10:52pm: Next Thursday the 11th, which apparently requires me to be at home so the technician can make sure the ADSL+2 can be connected. Which seems unnecessary since I know the line works because the previous tenant used it! Also in typical phone company style I have to be at home in case the technician needs to actually come into the granny flat between 1pm and 5pm. Hmpf, like I didn't have anything else to do! I'm going to have to rearrange my volunteering at the library.
Anywho! It was an interesting day as I finished up half an hour earlier at Mrs S's I was able to get to Macquarie Ice Rink for ice skating! Yay! Of course I had a bit of a scare when I realised I'd forgotten to bring my leggings, fortunately I was wearing my work pants which unlike jeans are easy to manuvoeer in so I just kept them on instead (although now I have to figure out where my leggings are...dang.
Anyway, it was lots of fun been out on the ice, especially since it was so nice and smooth since there wasn't a lot of people at the rink, it being lunchtime on a weekday and it's not school holidays. Although, I did have to pay the $20 flat fee, which is a bit of a pain, but since I haven't gone skating in almost a month I figured it was worth it.
After I the session ended I did a bit of shopping, although I didn't actually buy anything, I was hoping to get some cutlery - as I've mentioned my current set is starting to break because it was a cheap and cheerful purchase - but I couldn't find any that wasn't a) outrageously expensive and/or b) having way too many pieces - we're talking 56 piece cutlery sets! o.O I only need 16 ie four person...or maybe 24. But yeah 56 is way too much.
I even popped by the Belrose Supercentre on my way home hoping they'd have a shop in there that might cater to my needs, but alas no. And I've just realised I should have bought another watermelon cushion for my dining chair from Lincraft. Damn, it totally slipped my mind because I was having abdominal pain and just wanted to get my person home. Ah well.
Right, I should probably wrap this up because I didn't get anywhere near enough sleep last night, not only did I got to bed too late I got the shock of my life when just as I was near to drifting off the fire alarm went off briefly. I practically jumped out of bed! But there was no smoke or fire... I have to assume the battery is flat...although I thought they usually chirp before that happens, but there hasn't been a peep from it since last night. Plus looking up at it just now the light on it has flashed...so maybe it is still alive.
Well, Mum will be coming over, so she can help me take a look at it and perhaps get the landlord to come over...because I don't have an actual ladder here.
Okedoke, off to do my Russian and then hit the hay!
