11:07pm: Literally! Today I managed to finish Operation Clean-Up! Mum came by to inspect and declared it 95% done, parents I swear. :OP I'm quite impressed though the place is looking goood and hey I think I might be writing better with a clean place.
I did though get the shock of my life when I was stripping the bed in preparation to wash the sheets...there was a huge spider on the under sheet! I screamed and then rather foolishy shock it off the bedsheet rather than take said sheet outside to shake it off. Then I tried to pick the spider up with a dustpan and broom which worked until it started crawling towards my hand and I dropped it at which point it blended into the rug and I couldn't see it for a while. Then I attempted to pick it up using the old putting a container over the top of it then sliding a lid under, which worked for a bit and then the spider ended up on the door! So with a lot of manouveering with door I managed to get it to scurry outside and disappear on the deck.Phew! Although a bit scary because I'm not sure how long it's been there, could it have crawled onto my face one night? And I don't even know what kind of spider it is, it was rather big and brown...Not a Huntsman I hope!
In other news, it was damn hot today, so hot that despite my plan to go to the gym (Mum offered to drop me off after coming to look at the place) but since I can't swim at present (hmpf, that time o' the month) I didn't really feel like going and sweating it out, I shall do so tomorrow. Also...no ice skating was undertaken, which is a bit sad as it certainly would have helped me to beat the heat! But I woke up too late to get to the rink for a session then back here to clean up anyway.
Finally, the laptop keyboard continues to behave oddly, the spacebar and 'm' keys have begun working again, but now 'w' and 'a' and a few other keys have decided to stop working. Sigh, I'm going to have to purchase some canned air I think...or possibly a straw. Hmmm, am I feeling that cheap? I may well be.
Anywho, I'm hoping to get some more typing in before it's time to hit the hay, but here's my stats for today!
29005 / 50000 words. 58% done!
Yeah bring it on me let's keep on keeping on! Although I am thinking that I should change the time period...it's started nagging me that traditionally King Arthur stories take place in 500AD and for reasons unknown to me now I set my story in the late 900s early 1000s, which is rather close to when William the Conquerer rocked up and took over. And changing the time won't actually affect my setting much, what with the dragons and magic and such, LOL. Although I would have to change
not_a_clotpole's journal entry dates, as unnecessary as that is, but I like to keep things streamlined.
But, that will have to wait until later, for now, back to the word document!
