10:27pm: While watching The Actor's Studio - Colin Firth today I saw an add for face cream CC face cream. Now I've heard of BB face cream - even though I have no idea what's so special about it - but it's the first I've heard of this one. Man, can we look forward to DD and EE cream? The cosmetics industry is just weird. As for the program, eeeee, Colin Firth! :OD However, it was a bit confusing in that after having no adbreaks in the first half hour they suddenly started popping up every two minutes! Seriously WTF? Also annoying because I was recording it. With my new/old DVD/VCR combo, I have to record on a tape first then copy it to DVD, which I hope will go OK.
What else to report? Well today it was back to work and I managed to get to the gym in the morning - although I dilly dallied a bit too long in getting there so had to skip the swimming, then I had to make sure I left the parentals place in proper order and I ended up (thanks to some shitty traffic) been like five minutes late for work! Man, I have to be careful with that.
And now I better catch up with those Memes!
Friday Question
20/9/2013
How old were you when you took your first commercial flight? To where did you fly?
I was 8 years old and it was the year before the family went on our world trip and got on lots of flights! But this one was to New Zealand, where we met up with Grandpa and M on Grandpa's yacht. Good times...

Film Flam
1. In The Spectacular Now, the main character is good at making everybody laugh. What social skill do you bring to a large party? Sounds like Pinkie Pie! :OD As for me...well I probably do bring humour to a gathering.
2. In The Way Way Back, one character was supposedly there when, at the local water park, one person passed another on the huge water slide. What amazing or strange feat that everyone supposedly knows about did someone pull off in your area (or at your school)? You mean like swinging over the top of the swing set or something? I don't think I know any story particular to my area, so I'll go with that one, LOL.
3. In Austenland, the main character spends a week in a large Victorian-era house designed for fans of Jane Austen. In what book’s setting would you love to spend a week immersed? I've never heard of this film! I'm intrigued! As for what book's setting I'd love to spend a week in - definitely the Harry Potter series! Although preferably before or after Voldermort showed up!
4. In The Heat, two main characters at first have great difficulty getting along personally, but they work unusually well together professionally. With whom have you had huge personal differences while still doing excellent work? I got nothin', if I don't get on with people personally I can't do good work with them.
5. In We’re the Millers, a marijuana-dealer and a reluctant stripper pose as husband and wife in order to complete a job. If you had to do the same for an undetermined length of time, who could pose as your Platonic life partner? Uh...I guess my friend Ben? Although I can't think why this was necessary, LOL!
Saturday 9
:Seattle:
Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it
here. (Bobby Sherman?! LOL whut!)
1) Let's get the obvious out of the way: Have you ever been to Seattle? Nope, although it does look like a great place to visit!
2) Businessweek named Seattle one of the best places to live, citing its clean air, low crime and high employment. What makes your current hometown a great place to live? Pretty much the same thing as Seattle! :OD Really our Harbour City of Sydney is truly beautiful! Although public transport can be pretty shit and the house prices are ridiculously high, still I'd rather be here than not!
3) In this song, Bobby brags about how green Seattle is. Is it still green where you are? Or are the trees beginning to show their fall colors? Being in the Southern Hemisphere Spring has sprung, so things are getting green here. And since there was some rain last week it's looking all right.
4) This song was the theme of a 1968-1970 show called Here Come the Brides. Do you know the words to any other TV theme? Sure! Frasier, Family Ties, Cheers...Good times.
5) Bobby Sherman was once America's #1 teen idol, selling millions of records and earning 5 Gold Albums. Girls who wrote to his fan club received a postcard back signed, "Peace, Love & Bobby Sherman." Have you ever belonged to a fan club? Well, I did join the Back to the Future fanclub back in 1996, just in time for it to end. Do'h!
6) Alas, the career of a teen idol can be short, and by fall 1970, Bobby was replaced on magazine covers by David Cassidy. Sherman went on to a second career with the LAPD, instructing officers in CPR and first aid. Do you know how to perform CPR? The Heimlich Maneuver? Really? Get out of town! That's really interesting. And I did do a CPR demo thing in high school, but I don't know if I could actually do it in real life. This would have been more than 10 years ago! As for the Heimlich Maneuver, maybe? I sort of did it on myself once when I got a fish bone stuck in my throat, or it may have just been a coincidence. I got the fishbone out, which is the important thing!
7) The "disc" you see shown is actually made of cardboard and was printed on the back of a Post Alpha-Bits cereal box. It was one of four that Post printed on different cereals back in 1970 so that Bobby-loving little girls would have to go through lots of different cereals to collect the whole set. What's your favorite breakfast cereal? Aldi's Balance Right, super yummy! I just bought a new box last week. Not sure if I've got milk to go with it tomorrow morning though....
8) Crazy Sam can't decide if she wants berries or banana slices with her cereal. Which would be your choice? Eh, I don't like to mix fruit with my cereal, I'd prefer a banana on the side though.
9) Do you ever eat cereal straight out of the box? Drink milk directly from the carton? No, the former because, ewww, dry cereal is so...dry! For the latter? No because I suck at drinking out of cartons and most of it leaks out and gets on my shirt!
Saturday Six 1. What percentage of the total number of towels, washcloths and linens that you own are actually clean, folded and on the shelves of your linen closet? Don't have a linen cupboard, or many towels, washcloths etc. I do have some linens in the big wardrobe for the double bed mattress, so I guess...er 50%?
2. How many washcloths do you have in there right now? Actually I don't have any washcloths, I use those puff ball thingies.
3. How many different color washcloths do you have? I have a green puff ball thingy and a light yellow one.
4. Which have a greater variety of color: your towels or your washcloths? They both match! A fact I'm quite proud of, LOL!
5. Which single color is most of what’s in your linen closet? N/A
6. Is this a color that most closely matches your bathroom or bedroom, or is it a more neutral color in your home? Well, my bedding is red and blue (aside from the dark green body pillow and the My Little Pony blanket and pillow case), so...I guess it's more neutral.

:Fall/Autumn Meme:
First of all, is autumn your favorite season? Why or why not? No, because daylight savings ends, and the weather gets really unpredictable so you have no idea what to wear.
Is it ‘autumn’ or ‘fall’, to you? Autumn.
What kind of weather does your area get during this season? Well, with climate change it's bloody hard to tell, but usually cold in the mornings, rainy, cloudy, stuff like that.
Were you born in an autumn month? Nope, I was born in January, the middle of summer, at least here in the Southern Hemisphere.
Do you pay attention to any ‘fall fashions’? No fashion just goes right over my head.
Which leaf color is your favorite? I prefer my leaves green :OP
Is it still fun to rake the leaves and jump in piles of them? Never did that, although as someone who gets hayfever I don't think I'd enjoy it all that much.
When can you really tell that it’s autumn? When daylight savings end and it gets dark early, sob!
Do you enjoy carving pumpkins? Never done it, and I don't think I'd be too good at it, LOL.

Are you planning to go to a pumpkin patch this year? Pumpkin things like that aren't big here. I do love pumpkins though.
Which was your favorite Halloween costume to wear? Whilst Halloween is getting bigger in Australia, it wasn't much of a thing while I was growing up. However, I did go a Pinkie Pie to a Halloween Party last year, and that was fun!
Are you planning to go trick-or-treating? Why or why not? No, because that's not how I roll :OP
Are there any county fairs or festivals held nearby during this time? Not that I know of...although there is an Retro Fair next weekend, which sounds fun! I think I'll be going to my Grandparents' place so I think I'll miss that. Bit of a shame, though I did go to the one earlier in the year.
What is your favorite dessert for this time of year? The same as any time of year, chocolate ice cream!
Is your Thanksgiving Day in October or November, if you even celebrate it? We don't have Thanksgiving here.
If you do celebrate it, where do you usually have Thanksgiving dinner? N/A.
Do you remember any crafts you used to do that were autumn-themed? Er, I think we did something with autumn leaves once, but I'm not a hundred percent sure.
Are any of your favorite bands doing a fall tour this year? Nope.
Which new TV show are you looking forward to this season? New eps of Air Crash Investigation!
How does autumn typically make you feel? A bit bummed, I prefer hotter weather and longer days.
What color do you always associate with autumn? Brown.
Is there a song that always reminds you of this season? Nah.
Do you have any seasonal traditions? Well, Easter falls in Autumn here in Australia so there's that.
Do you spend a lot of time outside during this time of the year? Hell no, it's cold out there!
How can you tell that fall is over? When the leaves stop falling off the trees!
What is a typical autumn outfit that you wear? Jeans, long sleeve skivvy, scarf and sneakers.
Describe a perfect autumn day: Well, I guess it won't be raining down and the weather will be OK.
Do you hate it when stores start promoting Christmas early? It is rather irritating, I'm still more perturbed when Easter eggs appear on December 27th, WTF?!
What is your favorite thing about this season? Don't really have one...as I said autumn isn't my bag.
