Now that I am done...

Today was my last day of class!! Yippee!! ...though I still have three assignments due, one at midnight tonight and two next week. Too bad I don't get a breather from school before I dive head first into working full time for the rest of December. At least I got to fit in an appointment with my massage therapist before work tomorrow. Ooooo, I can't wait for that...

I just want to go celebrate and party it up a little bit. I deserve it. But I can't, 1) because all of my friends still have a week of school, 2) because I have work tomorrow, 3) I am too poor to order up a lil fun.

Now that I am done with school and have no obligations besides work, I've decided to take up a few thing. First things first, I want to start running. I have never EVER been a big runner. In fact, I hate it. But I hear you can learn to love it if you train the right way so I am going to give it a shot. I've decided to train with the Couch-to-5K running plan. I figure I can devote enough time to getting used to running, so when the quarter starts I will be more likely to keep it up. My one concern is that my gimp knee won't be happy with me. I'm curious about knee braces and which ones are good for running, etc. We'll see what happens.

Secondly, I think I want to try and do another Lifebook project for the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS). I mentioned in an earlier post that the Lifebook project was part of an assignment for my Developmental class. While I was not enthusiastic about it at first (because it was emotionally overwhelming) it was a great experience overall. The child we were assigned to taught me a lot about resilience and being positive. She is a true survivor. Today we got to present our Lifebooks to the class and a few of the Foster parents whom we were making them for showed up to be gifted with them. It was amazing to see how much it impacted them. They were so thankful to be given a piece of their new child's history. And the children, I am sure, will be appreciative too. At any rate, I hate the feeling of being unproductive over a long period of time, so maybe I will devoted some of my down time between working to this cause. I have yet to work it out with DCFS though.

Good luck to everyone who has yet to finish this quarter. You can do it!!
