Wish List
STEP ONE
# Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ/Blog. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread
STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Stole this from rose_bertin who stole it from someone else...but that's the idea...steal it and make sure I know you did. ^___^ Also if you celebrate something other then Christmas don't let that stop you. What do you want for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Three Kings Day...you get the picture. It's the season of giving so lets participate. Oh and if you like fan vids copycatgirl has a wish list meme that involves vid making. I can't make vids but I'm still fulfilling one of her wishes.
So here's my list:
1) TEA. Wild Sweet Orange Tazo Tea. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51MU2FgJhyL.jpg They stopped making it and anytime I see it on a shelf I pick it up, stockpiling. Eventually I'll never be able to drink it again.....that will be a sad day.
2) Icons....Sherlock especially BBC....I'm fond of text.
3) Scarfs. I hate the color purple....my favorite colors are green, red and gray and I'm developing a fondness for medium to dark blues.
4) Socks. My foot is size 8 so normal sock sizes are fine.
5) Ecards. My inbox here is wonderful but my personal email inbox brings only spam and dread...I hate opening it...give me a reason to like checking my email.
6) Fairytale books. Even a recommendation would make me happy. A retelling or a tale I've never heard before. Folklore and modern retellings are a passion of mine.
7) Bookmarks...even a design I could print myself. I love handmade and store bought bookmarks of all types.
8) Ugly sweaters. Expecially oversized sweaters....The ugliest sweater know to man even handmedowns...I'm trying to make my mother's eyes burn but my attempts so far have failed...and she got used to the older ugly sweaters.
9) There is an actor that my mother swears looks like an older Benedict Cumberbatch but she cant remember who it is. If you can think who it is that would be brilliant.
10) Fic...Sherlock/John fic. or Sherlock Mycroft fic brotherly or slashy I'm not picky. Prompts: a) Tattoo b) John is an artist c) Gladstone fic d) Werewolf!John Sherlock as another supernatural being e) dogtag fic f) John in a wifebeater g) Sherlock in John's sweater h) Mycroft tells excellent bedtime stories i) Mycroft shares his umbrella j) Chefs: This http://community.livejournal.com/sherlockbbc/1328837.html k) there is another one I can't remember....someone told me I should put it on Make me a Monday and I've forgotten what it was cause I lost the page....if that person was you remind me please.
MERRY AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HANUKKAH! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Oh side note...I'm watching Young Sherlock Holmes....written by Chris Columbus and Directed by Steven Spielberg....EPIC FUCKING FAIL. Watson sucks and Lestrade sucks even worse...Holmes is in love with a girl but thankfully the majority of his characteristics are intact...it's worth the netflix watch but I'd have regretted buying it....I'm buying the Great Mouse Detective tomorrow. ^___^
