asahiya prob update
ok, so i've made a sort-of battle plan with the asahiya issue. so far i have emailed kinokuniya. here was their response regarding special orders:

We do carry Cheese magazine,but we only get one copy each month,and currently we are out of stock.
We are sorry for your inconvenience.
We could place a special order to Japan for the most recent issue out of stock magazines.

A) It takes two to three weeks to get the item(s).
B) Once the order goes through, cancellation would not be acceptable for any reason.
C) There is no extra charge for the special order.
In case you would like to place the special order, would it be
1) picked-up at the store or
2) shipped to your address?
In either case, please let us know your address and phone number via e-mail.
When you write us back,please let us know the titles of the manga you would like to order too.
*To make a special order for magazines or purchase amount above $50,we ask the customer's credit card information as a deposit.
Please note that if your order is to be "picked-up at the store",the actual payment should be made at the cashier upon visiting our store for the pick up of your special ordered item.
When you have time, give us a call for credit card information. Our phone number here is

Our store hour is as follows.
Monday - Saturday 10AM to 8PM
Sunday 11AM to 7:30PM
For this order,Oshima or Ozeki will be in charge.
If neither of us is available when you call,please tell
1) your name and credit card number
2) the information is for special order
to the staff that answered your call,and tell him/her to leave the message for either Oshima or Ozeki.

so now i have to find out if all usa asahiya are closing or just this nyc 1. then, i have to find which is the closest to nyc and see if they ship and take orders, and if their orders will take less time than kino's b/c 2-3 wks is too damn long. by the time i get it the new 1 will be out 4sale. i also want to re email / call kino and see if they can place my order in advance so i can get it n an asahiya time sched.
this is proving to be a HUGE pain in the ass, but this is one pain in the ass i have to deal with >:|
