Philosophy and ceiling wax and other fancy stuff

I just went online and read the statements about "Is there a God?" and "What is truth" and it was . . . hilarious. There were a couple worthy of pasting in their entirety here. But I will just quote a few snippets:

"The bible is a book that was wrote many years ago"

"When it comes to truth, honesty is the best policy"

"Some people think god is a pigment of the imagination"

"Relgion doesn't hurt anybody so why critasise it?"

There were a bunch of responses - all in gushing agreement - to a posting, rife with misspellings, berating scientists and the belief in "people coming from monkeys" because "this is a stupid idea" and "scientists don't believe in god."

I was tempted to write back something guaranteed to infuriate half the class in one shot - something like: Jesus died for your sins - including murder (of the English language). But then they might just decide English majors don't believe in God, either!!
