Celebrities and Politics
I never really get why celebrities get involved in politics so heavily, though I
think they have as much right as anyone else does to do so. I'm not offended by
celebrity endorsements of candidates, but I'm not typically moved or influenced
by them either.
However, a celebrity I don't much care for has done something I greatly admire
and I find I have to quote him, because I think what he has to say is just SO
TRUE. This is Brad Pitt on why he's just donated $100,000 to a defeat
Proposition 8 Group in California (proposition 8 would overturn the rights of
gays to marry)
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they
disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire
if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America,
my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."
I'm impressed against my will.
