So far the two only begun to scratch the surface on the fact that they are not related. Though in another log we've posted to the community which is VERY long, that occurs earlier in the day prior to Al's first network post. They do actually try and talk about some of the many differences in their world. Ed had a exceedingly tough time processing that Al's Edward managed to save Al without giving up his own life.

Both of them are doing what comes naturally, accepting the other person without a fault, because they are still brothers. They walked different paths and met with different outcomes, but despite being from different series the Elrics have always had strong emotional bond. They can't deny that Ed is not Ed and Al is not Al.

Coming to terms that Al doesn't know everything that Ed knows and Ed isn't the Brother who left him behind is something that will be worked on in the future. I believe Alphonse will come to think he's there to show Ed that despite how dirty his hands have gotten (from all the Homonculus killing), that he should not give up on going home to his world and being with his Alphonse. Because yeah ... Al believes Edward above any other person deserves a happy ending that includes being at home with Al and his friends.

I personally don't think any Ed from any universe would ever want to fuck any Al from any universe and viceversa, but if they ship it, they wanna go there and the game they're in allows it, let them be, you don't have to look at it.

I don't mind at all. Civil conversation is most welcome when it comes to this subject matter. I'm happy to share my thoughts as to how I'll be handling at least Al's initial feelings on the matter. If and When the two boys do end up catering to the Elricest pairing, it will be a while to come. Alphonse isn't even acting as an active entertainer in the game, he's being made an apprentice and his tattoo is inactive. He won't be needing to have sex at all and for a while might I add.

Civil conversation is the best, especially with stuff like this. I don't really ship many incest pairings, but I will admit that I used to ship Elricest hardcore and still fancy the ship if it's written/RPed with a bit of guilt attached and not all fluff all the time. But, as you said, you and Hales are going to take this development slowly, AND both Al and Ed have other CR/sex partners (in Ed's case), so I don't see why people should care THAT much. Fictional incest is serious business, I guess? Despite any of that, I guess I can sort of empathize, because this fake shota right here is another one of those types who could give Freud several field days where potential incestuous feelings are concerned.

To be honest, when I did RP Edward actively a few years ago, I hated this pairing. It's grown on me through the years, even though it was a bit of a squick. I understand it's a touchy subject for some, but male/male pairings in general seem to bring out the worst in most people. Actually, I stand corrected: SHIPPING seems to bring out the worst in people.

And yeah, been in the game a whole three days, not even finished playing out my intro thread and already experiencing a mild case of shipfest2011. Just think if people relaxed a bit, ignored it if they didn't like it, or just gave it some time instead of judging instantaneously things wouldn't be so bad.

Oh god, yes. I love shipping, but WOW does it bring out the insanity in some people. I wonder if I get bonus points, though, because not only did I ship Elricest, but I shipped (and still kinda do) a crossover threesome ship involving the brothers and a character from another canon that actually has CANONICAL incest in it. Whoops. /kanye shrug

Yeah, people getting this crazed when you've only been in the game for not even a week makes me go all kinds of unsure, and I'm not even you.

Yeah. It seems I'll be in for an interesting ride at least. Sadly, while I'm open to discussion, in the end most people, myself include RP to have fun and enjoy themselves. I won't make any promises about changing anything plot wise that we wanted to play out, but there is always the small chance. Ultimately, I can only really apologize and remind others to heed the log or post warnings so they can skip over things they dislike. If they read things after that and get angry, it's not really my fault. /shrug

However, I really wouldn't mind seeing GnD get a Winry or a May Chang. In fact, I'd love to have May around.
