CFUD: Scripting
This is just for my own reference, I usually do this exercise with characters to try to understand voice a little better.
EPISODE 1
"Looking back I don't get it. But in a way, I do. Anyway, it would change my life. But, in a way, nothing changed at all. It was, at the same time, very strange, but something that could happen to anyone. Here in Ikebukuro..."

"I ask you not to laugh. In both elementary and middle school, I stayed home from class trips. Here I am, a fifteen year old boy on his first trip in Tokyo, after never leaving his hometown. That's me, Ryuugamine Mikado. And you ask why I'm standing dumbstruck in front of the Tobu-Tojo line? In April, I'll be starting class at Raira Academy, In Ikebukuro. [it's awesome] But mostly, I'm going 'cause a friend of mine since elementary school invited me. My parents wanted me to go to public school. But I always wanted to see Tokyo."

"Yes, this is my best friend, Kida Masaomi. I haven't seen him since he left in elementary school, but beyond appearances, nothing's changed." "His jokes suck, but he's really a good guy. We chatted online every day, so I hadn't ever realized how far apart we were or how long it had been. bowing politely when introduced, kinda wide-eyed "U-um, my name is Ryuugamine Mikado." (Did I say something I shouldn't have?) "U-um, actually, it's my real name."
"I wonder what kind of experiences he's had, while I was sitting alone at home." KIDA SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT GIRLS EVER "...he's a perv."
Kida-kun just kept on talking. I was getting tired, either from walking, or listening to his bad jokes. Probably both. "S-sou da ne. . ." I was debating whether to humor him or not, and that's when I saw him. [and then he really awkwardly deals with Simon being huge and black and a sushi chef] "Uh, I'm not following your joke."
"Hey, are there any other people I should stay away from?" [warned about izaya, and the dollars]
"The Dollars?" "Yah, pronounced like wanderers" (What the heck, wanderers...)
picks up girl with scarred neck, spoooots it...
"I'm happy. I get to go to school with you here, and we get to hang out again." "/// me too."
"You get to witness an urban legend!" "Wa-- kida-kun!" [RUNS AFTER!]
"Just then, I realized my body was shaking. I wasn't scared. Rather, I think I was moved. I'd seen something amazing. Right here, in this town, I experienced something I'd never experience anywhere else. An impossible reality that I thought I'd never experience, was before my very eyes. It may contradict what I said at first, but at the least, it's what I thought then. I was shaking with the premonition of a new reality beginning for me."

all bummed out cuz the dollars are rumored to be MAFIA and TERRIFYING and all this over-voice stuff about 'Your surroundings have changed, but you haven't. they were supposed to be sekeking a change. they thought something would change, but there was actually a deep darkness in what first seemed like a dazzling city.'
And the kida is hilarious. OVERCOME THESE TRIALS, MIKADO!! RYUUGAMINE MIKADO!! "Kida-kun..." "And when you hit on girls you smile :|b" "I think you're not gonna have much luck hitting on girls over twenty..."
"Bullying? And really stereotypical stuff, too."

So next time people are all DOLLARS HAVE GONE TO WAR WITH SHIZUO, he is confident and in a better mood and says naw, I happened to see it, they weren't really Dollars. And then NAW, SOME DUDES BEAT UP PEDESTRIANS AND TOOK THEIR MONEY "eh?!" "scary huh :DD" "...:("

(she talks about her, but it sounds like she just didn't want to lose someone that made her look good. HE DOES PAUSE, he doesn't say it, but then she cues that she knows! THEN he is blunt)
"I thought if I could take the job she wanted, that I could overcome her. It's not fair, is it?"
"I think it's more so to say that to someone else. It's like you're trying to earn forgiveness for it. You're right to want to aim higher than her. So I think, maybe you should have more pride in yourself. Uh. Um..."
[THUNK] "KIDA-KUN" "lol you fail" "I fail is it?? 8|!!"
"I was thinking, maybe that Yagiri-kun guy and Mika are together after all."
"Maybe she kidnapped him or something."
"Searching for someone... what do I do?" "just ignore it"
"Maybe you'd need some kind of organization... like the Dollars."

then they both run on first shot and then laugh about it together \o/ "Man you had me scared" "So did you!!"
kida runs up, perks up |D "ohayo"

Sign lady approaches him with a sign of what everyone is looking for. "Um... can I see that?"
He's happy reading them all, and writes "connections"

things are kinda tight this month...
girl runs into him SAVE ME PLEASE -- freaks out temporarly and then GO, GRABS HER 8|b
tries to tell kida. kida is a douchebag. "do you get how i'm being sarcastic here :)" "Yes, I think we all did."

Talkin' to dude who's in the Dollars, writin' a song! Doesn't have any rules or restrictions, so that's fun, he's not the type to give or take orders :|a Mikado smiles. Mikado also notices Kida looking TRAUMAFACED when he's talking about blue squares vs yellow scarves.
"Th..that pretty girl is this russian chick! We saw at sushi! And.. and... she..she has a nose piercing!" AM SO SMOOTH
Wait a minute, is she a stalker? Wait, if she's hot, it's okay, right? Wait a minute, this is really bad! It might go like, SHE MIGHT STAB ME. OR MAYBE SET ME ON FIRE. Wait. Maybe she'll take my parents hostage!! But if she's got a nice personality, then maybe it's ok...Wait. If she's stalking me, she can't have a nice personality!

So... I...
EPISODE 11
"Yagiri Namie-san? My name is Ryuugamine Mikado. Would you like to make a trade?"
Sets the time and place, quietly observing her scattered guards...
"I have the person you're looking for. I don't want money. I want the truth. I want you to admit what your brother did to Mika, and what you did to Mika's body. Unfortunately, all I have is circumstantial evidence. I'll be brief. Turn yourselves in."
PEOPLE WHO GO AGAINST MY BROTHER CAN'T BE ALLOWED TO EXIST. 'I see. She's that kind of person.' Someone died for it. ANd she did that horrible thing to her body, and now she's after me! (D...deep breath...)
"That's why you took someone's life? Are you going to make Yagiri-kun miserable for the sake of your own self-satisfaction? (It'll be okay, right?) "It might be a platitude, but so what? Back home, the sky was big and wide. But... there wasn't anything there. When I was a kid, this town overflowed with adventure. When did it end up like this? I wanted to change something. But I had no reason to leave or courage to do so. And then, one day... [THE INTERNET!!] There were all kinds of worlds out there. Worlds I'd never seen, worlds I couldn't reach. I started talking with Kida-kun, who had moved to Tokyo. And one time, I had an idea. At first, it was mor of a joke than anything else. ("A gang?" "Yeah, I heard there's a lot in Tokyo." "An internet gang?" "No, make it real. Say there's a gang in Ikebukuro. Spread the rumor all over the net." We didn't identify ourselves as Dollars members. Our front that we'd heard off the BBS from somewhere else and just spread the name. We made a password protected site for the gang. We spread the password via emails and various forums. Lots of our "members" posted on the BBS. Of course, a lot of people didn't believe us. Eventually, people started defending us. Everyone was happy. But I had a bad feeling... [AND THEN ACTUAL CRIEMS WERE COMMITTED IN THE REAL WORLD.] And then the members number kept increasing, even though we stopped giving out the password. It was like someone was leaking information. I don't know if they got scared or what, but the other people who helped me make the Dollars vanished. I didn't stop though. No, I couldn't. I don't know why. ("They're a bunch of shitheads.") ("...That's not true. There may have been some bad people. But there are lots of good people, too. I know it. Why don't we make the Dollars a good group? Like, maybe do enough good things to negate the bad impressions others have?" "Like picking up garbage, or cleaning up graffiti...") And then good deads were done |D
"Everyone not looking at their cell is an enemy. Don't attack them. Just watch quietly."

[after a tale of INSANE STALKERDOM] "Um, I think it's amazing how you risked your life to get her back... I was wrong about Harima-san. She's a bit strange, but she's not a stalker. I think it's amazing how you can like someone who nearly killed you... in many ways, I think you're a lot like him."
Izaya to Mikado: "I knew there were quite a few people calling themselves Dollars on the net, but I never thought so many people would show up when you called a meeting. Humans really are beyond imagination. But, Mikado-kun, you seem to dream of an escape from the 'everyday,' but life in Tokyo will be everyday in about six months or so. And so, if you want something different, you'll have to go somewhere else or seek something more underground. But once you're on the other side, three days of that and it's the new normal. If you really want to escape the everyday, you must constantly evolve. Whether you're aiming higher or lower... enjoy your everyday. But as a token of my respect, I won't charge you for Yagiri Namie's phone number, and I won't sell the information that you're the founder of the Dollars. It's your organization. When you want to use it, do so."

[AND THEN ACTUAL CRIEMS WERE COMMITTED IN THE REAL WORLD.] And then the members number kept increasing, even though we stopped giving out the password. It was like someone was leaking information. I don't know if they got scared or what, but the other people who helped me make the Dollars vanished. I didn't stop though. No, I couldn't. I don't know why. ("They're a bunch of shitheads.") ("...That's not true. There may have been some bad people. But there are lots of good people, too. I know it. Why don't we make the Dollars a good group?
