A rare political rant from me
I posted this as a comment in a friend's journal, with apologies to her because I've heard what she said before but for some reason it really set me off this morning - it's totally not her. :) just finally pushed over the edge!
It hit me.
"I'm just hoping America gets it right this time."
I've heard that countless times, and it pisses me off. GET IT RIGHT??? who's to say that the Democrats would have gotten elected last time and screwed the country up even worse than it is?
Who's to say that Republicans could get elected this time and McCain be the best damn president ever?
THERE IS NO RIGHT (as in correct). There's only one choice or another. Neither is "right." And I'm sick of being a Republican and having people treat me like I'm the freaking devil because of it.
McCain and Palin may not be the choice for some people, but this DOES NOT make them WRONG. Obama and Biden may be the choice for some people, but this DOES NOT make them RIGHT. It's just a choice, each has ADVANTAGES, and each has DISADVANTAGES.
It's a choice. Not right versus wrong.
