This is mostly for me to keep track of places, but here are places I may suggest to people coming to Seattle for my wedding. Damn, it's expensive to visit Seattle!
I'll put most of this behind a cut, but Seattle area people: any info on Vance Hotel, Sixth Avenue Inn? They seem the most reasonable choices so far...
---- Bed and Breakfasts ----
Bed and Breakfast on Broadway North end of Broadway, $105-$135 double occupancy. No mention of minimum stay.
Capitol Hill Inn Most annoying website ever--what is up with that music?! 3 night minimum stay, $99.00 - $165.00, On Belmont, a block from where I used to live.
Gaslight Inn Very proud that their rates haven't gone up since 1998. Will only allow us to use up to 3 rooms. $88-178, 15th Ave. Did at least say "congratulations" in their email. No mention of minimum stay.
Hill House Bed and Breakfast11th and John, $105 - $165, 3 night minimum, they press their sheets and let you use one of their robes.
Mildred's B&B On 15th near Volunteer Park, $90 - $165, 2 night minimum. Only 4 rooms total!
Salisbury House16th E and Aloha, $125-$139 for the three rooms they currently have available (they've already booked two!), 2 night minimum stay.
---- Hotels/Motels ----
Silver Cloud Inn, Broadway Broadway and Madison, perfect location, nice new shiny hotel, $149 for 2 people, $179 for 4 people, may be a discount if I get a block of rooms. But it's so expensive I doubt I most people could stay there.
Holiday Inn Express, Seattle Center Denny and Aurora (ugh), $111 for 2-4 people.
Comfort Suites Lower Queen Anne, so not convenient to my house; $129-149 for up to 4 people, $159 for up to 6 people
Travelodge
Aurora, one block off Denny: $107 for 1 bed, $134 for 2 queen beds
About a block off of Denny and Westlake: $72 for 2 double beds. I am seriously worried by their rates. I'd have to see in person before I'd even mention it to anyone.
Days Inn 7th and Westlake, $79-$93 for 2, $94 for 4 people (but double beds--ick) same worries about price/quality.
Vance Hotel 6th and Stewart, $98-$125 for 2 people, $145 for 4 people. (Strangely they only give rates for "AAA discount," so I dont know what their standard rate is...) This is not a bad location and not a bad price. I wonder if it's a reasonable place? The 4 person rooms are double beds. If it's reasonably nice, I think we have a winner!
Hotel Seattle 3rd and Seneca, $72-$110 for 2-4 people, still only double beds if there are 2 beds in a room.
Sixth Avenue Inn 6th and Virginia, $99-$104 for "best available rate", $149+ for "rack rate". No idea what rack rate is.
