the worst to come to mind for me aren't that bad: mostly just dumb misreadings/mistakes and... gender assumptions.

It's really stupid 'cause I got used to knowing a LOT of male RPers... then I join a new game and found out that one of the players I assumed female was a guy too. GJ ME. way2lern

I've had gender!fails before. The worst part? They were all IC. Like, I'd misinterpret some character's gender and my character would reference them by the gender I thought they were. So fucking embarrassing.

This has actually happened to my characters...though I was a bit embarrassed as well, because I either hadn't made his actual sex clear enough...or had just ended up picking some of the girliest images of him and had made them into icons. Either way, you can possibly rest easy knowing that there is a good chance that the other player wasn't mad...just embarrassed themself. (And mildly amused.)

Fucking up a fly-on-the-wall!sockpuppet by getting my tabs mixed up.
At least I got the evidence of the people starting wank in the rp before I fucked up, but oh god. :C

Oh definitely. :( The only reason I rushed into a Sephiroth ship was to get away from the furry who wanted to pound Cloud's ass. I was 15 and terrified.

RPing a relationship with a well-known wanky bitch. Apparently everybody knew their reputation better than I did and I ended up getting lumped in with their drama by association. I still pretend it never happened. Even when asked.

If I shared anything recent I'd be de-anoning myself, so instead:

I kind of sluttified a character in Polychromatic just so I could play out a bunch of ships I liked.

I made a total wimp of a villain I like to play, to the point where people were calling her a self-insert.

My first porny thread was basically dub-con if not outright rape, and I didn't even consider that (or the homophobic implications) at the time, and it led into a long-running romantic plotline. I feel terrible for still finding it hot.

ugh this still bugs me to this day.

it started when i was like 14 years old. i'd just started roleplaying then, and on livejournal nevertheless. i didn't know the system of applications or journals. so one day, i searched and found this naruto rpg and just decided to comment to a character without applying or the knowledge that the character i replied as was an already taken character.

so there was a huge confusion and probably a lot of laughter among the cast there. i'm so glad i'm never doing that again.

Okay, my first time rping, I was crazy-obsessed with the edit feature, always going back to "correct" my characterization. (Which was still way off.) Anyway, during a particularly important post, I wasn't happy with one thread, and attempted to delete my comments so I could start over....ended up deleting all my comments in the entire F@kijfl POST! DX ask;ldfjak;ljfawefj Felt like an idiot doesn't describe enough!
