I second danahid's comment and think it fascinating how you take the cliché -- Jim and Spock playing a game, Spock being a vicious winner -- and expand it into a dynamic cycle of devestating Trauerarbeit or grief, while at the same time acheiving such insights into both Jim and Spock's characters as we saw them in the film.
