I didn't even realize I had finished one arc and was starting another. But it seems I am. I picked the right day to catch up on my reading!
I like this set up very much; the examination of art and subjectivity was intriguing. I was most interested by Jim's (stubborn) refusal to be drawn into Nyota and Spock's discussion at first.
“The standards by which one measures the greatness of a piece of art are questionable. Furthermore, if, as some contend, the appreciation of art is essentially a construct dependent on one’s education and value system, which in turn are dependent on one’s culture and species, then those standards are meaningless and self perpetuating.”
“Nothing like an enemy to makes people really good friends,” Leonard shook his head.
I think you mean "make", not "makes".
Also, "It was an impressive." is not a proper sentence.
Otherwise? Interesting chapter. I tend to be stupidly moved by music, but not at all by most other forms of art, so yeah. I can kinda get where they're both coming from. I prefer music with lyrics, actually, although the lyrics don't have to be direct or even necessarily comprehensible. Foremost, I just like the form they give to the sound, so I have a frame of reference to go by.

Jim looked at me.
“What he said.”
I love this exchange.
