Ok, I know I'm comment spamming, but I had to tell you how much I love this chapter. It is reminiscent of Jim and Spock's first kiss, both of which completely drew me in. (Though I must say I have always been a bit partial to fiction structured by songs or literature.) And once again I am completely enamoured by the contrast between the lust, sexual interation, Jim's dark secrets, and Spock's concern over them. This is such a beautiful chapter, most certainly high on my list of favorites.
oh, I LOVE this chapter to kingdom come. The pulse and the rhythm of it, the dark, intimate atmosphere it creates, along with Spock's darkening thoughts - very, very nice.
Wow. Spock really has come a long way. To imagine him dancing that way with Jim with the crew around... Not something he would have allowed himself not too long ago. Too emotional by far. And so wonderful to see that breaking down of inhibitions and his acceptance of the way they can be together. Beautiful. I feel like Spock has really made such strides on that personal level. Jim has too, but I think more of his growth over the story has been professional, since he had that leap into captaincy to deal with as well. Maybe now Spock can chisel away at some of Jim's issues...
See, now there's one part left and I'm really hoping you don't wait too long before posting the next arc.
"the dark comfort of his mind" dark, dark, the ease of closing eyes. "they are old and he thinks them long forgotten ... they are not. far from it"-- things broken that not even love can mend. I-Ching with one missing hexagram. "perhaps fail each other" and perhaps stop and catch up and start again together, or maybe not, but how can they not try?

I like how Spock is read for bonding (has his father's, the head of his house's permission), but he recognizes that Jim is not.
neutron stars lightless in the dark
is a heartbreaking description.
