At first I felt bad for not finishing my turbo_rumble icons on time, but now I'm rather glad... I hate writing concrit/comments so much, ugh. I know it's useful and most people appreciate getting it, but forcing participants to do it is not the best way of doing it imo... I feel really bad for people whose English is not that good, it must be even harder for them :\

I participated for the first time in the last round, and it got really tedious having to write so much concrit for 3 weeks straight. The voting just takes so long and it drags out so it just looms over you, especially since you're losing points by not voting. I found myself always saying the same thing too. I also hated how your negative votes don't even factor in to who wins, so you're picking negatives for nothing.

I think it's one of the best communities out there, especially if you're looking for a chance to grow as icon maker. Writing concrit might be draining, but it makes you focus on the technical aspects of icon making and you benefit for the concrit you give as much as the one who receives it. The faults of somebody else's icons may be the same you make, but it's easier to tell when you're considering icons you didn't make.
And if your English is not that good, you can write a couple of lines and nobody will make fun of you because your grammar isn't flawless. Btw, my English improved a lot thanks to turbo-rumble, because I wanted to provide understandable, useful feedback.

IA about the growing part. The only reason why I got better was because I participated.
