(John Lennon after The Beatles break-up. Whether it was his adittude, music, activism, his relationship with Yoko or Paul, or his death, any and all regarding John after The Beatles is to be discussed. )

The whole Yoko-getting-him-into-heroin thing sort of pisses me off, because heroin is like WICKED evil, but I suppose if it hadn't been her it would've been someone else and he'd already done just about every other drug under the sun, so whatever. I'm just not sure what to think about Yoko, but I wouldn't go so far as to say she "poisoned John's mind" or anything like that. ...but ever notice how some people get more boring once they're in a relationship? I think it's kind of like that, post-Beatles John bores me. XD

THIS. I'd never been able to quite put my finger on the exact reason I'm not so into John after the Beatles - but that's exactly it, hehe.

I mean, not to say I don't think a few of his songs from the 70s are very good, because I do love some of them. But as compared to the stuff he wrote (with and 'with' Paul in the 60s), there's no contest for me. I love almost every single one of those. (And there's the whole thing where I think that both he and Paul, overall, wrote better songs when they were together...but that's kind of a different topic!)

I mean, maybe he got lame because of Yoko, or maybe he was just bound to go in directions that, while not BAD necessarily, are just not as interesting to me as his work with the Beatles. Although I do absolutely love some of his solo stuff.

And don't get me started on Paul post-Beatles, it'll probably get me run out of town on a rail. LOL

Heh, from your comment, I think we may have similar opinions on post-Beatles Paul...we may be sharing that rail if that ever comes up as a topic thread! XD

Seriously, I never would've poked my nose into the Beatles fandom if I knew it was so full of people who find Wings tolerable. ...only not really, I still like the fandom. XD
