Yeah, seriously, I've had no motivation at all to get stuff that I need to done over the last few days. Partially because I've been catching up on things like Glee and Top Chef and rewatching all three Lord of the Rings movies and generally being totally lazy. Bad, not good. Bad.
So the to do list for the next few days, right-o.
- Put up and decorate Christmas trees
- Christmas decorations
- Laundry
- Christmas shopping
- FH app
- Yuletide
- Catch up on Days of December meme.
Suddenly, it doesn't look so bad when it's put up like that. *makes note*
What we have below is a selection of pictures from the Quebec Roadtrip that
coltsbane and I wandered off on last week. Since I didn't get so much of a chance to talk about it at the time due to exhaustion and running around during other things, I figured I'd post some pictures now if you guys wanted to see what we were up to!
So first we headed down to Pittsburgh for a quick stop at
relativity and
random_syzygy 's house and wonderful hospitality. I especially liked their kitties. :D And the getting to play with their Wii and seeing all the awesome games and hanging out and we went to the Incline to look over the city. Pittsburgh is evil, this is true, but it's a pretty, pretty evil.
Looking back at the incline and towards the East. I think.
Down the incline! I love heights.
The Confluence. Or whatever they call it. :D
coltsbane and
relativity up at the incline.
And then we drove up to Niagara Falls! Because it's mostly on the way, and the Australian had not yet seen it. She kept commenting that "that's a FUCK TON of water." Which, you know, yeah.
Us and the thousands of tourists at the American side of the Falls.
The view from the bridge where we walked to Canada. Singing the national anthems the whole way of course because we are dorks. Walking to Canada was way cooler (literally!) than one might expect. Perhaps you need to be a total dork. The Canadian customs dude was totally cute but a jackass, but when we walked on back to the US, the US customs guy was all "aww, you dorks" and waved us through with the bare minimum of questions.
Um, there was a Mountie. Made from Christmas lights. And he saluted, but that picture didn't come out. Just imagine it.
That's the bridge we walked across! And the American Falls. We kinda walked a long way, but it didn't really seem like it. Walking keeps you warm!
After we wandered away from Niagara Falls (There totally was checking to see if there was any hockey in Buffalo, but sadly no), we followed 90 east for a good way before turning north onto 81 at Syracuse. We were supposed to sleep in Syracuse, but I was a moron and didn't get off the exit so we ended up another few hours north in Watertown. (Which worked out cause there was a BW3 there for food and MUCH HUNGER) We took an exit towards Cicero at one point, hoping to find an advertised motel, but it was TERRIFYING and I think the small town people were going to eat our souls if we actually stopped. So Watertown and Ft Drum, it was.
Which actually worked out really well...for reasons you shall see tomorrow. *adds suspense*
