[MOD] The 2013 JE Philippines Fund-Raising Project Dear JE fans,
As you might have known, and as many of you have probably experienced, the Philippines has just experienced non-stop rains and floods brought about a monsoon and Typhoon Maring. Regions in the country such as Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, and Bataan are still in deep floods, and many families have been displaced in their homes.
With this in mind, the
je_philippines admins have decided to bring back our community’s fund-raising project, where we donate our time and efforts in fandom to give back to those who need it. This time, not only will we ask you to offer your fandom services, but we will also be opening up this fund-raising for donating your JE merchandise for our garage sale. We have raised a lot in last year’s project, so we hope to have the same outcome, or maybe even exceed last year’s goal.

Thank you for expressing interest in the
je_philippines Fund-Raising Project. Here is our little FAQ:
1. How does this fundraiser work?
In this fund-raising project, you can help by either buying or selling. Sellers offer their services (by writing fan fiction, creating graphics, translating interviews, subbing, etc.), while buyers donate a small amount of money in exchange of what the sellers have to offer.
2. I am not Filipino, but I want to help. Is it okay if I join?
Of course! Anyone can help!
3. I only contribute to one JE fandom. Is it okay if I join?
Yes! The fund-raising project is open to everyone, whether you are active in one JE fandom or not.
4. I want to sell. How do I go about it?
If you want to sell your services, you may comment on this thread with the following:
Name: Your nickname
LJ username/LJ community:
E-mail: If you are not comfortable in putting your e-mail, then a “PM me” is okay.
My contributions to the fandom: Do you write fan fiction? Do you make graphics? Do you translate and/or sub? List as many as you can. Also, you can list comms in which you are active or place a masterpost of your work.
I am willing to do: For which fandoms do you contribute? What’s your favorite pairing? Genre? Situations/prompts?
I am not willing to do: Do you go by one pairing only? Are you uncomfortable writing NC-17? Do you need the raw video/image from the buyer before subbing/editing? Place all your restrictions here.
Pricing: How much are you offering to make a specific request? Try asking between USD1-10 or PhP50-500.
Timeframe: How long does it take for you to complete a specific request?
Once you have finished with the project, post it
here.
If you want to donate your items to our garage sale, you may go
here.
5. How do I know if my buyer has donated?
Once we have received confirmation from the buyer, we will e-mail you. Then you can start on the request.
6. How do I buy?
Once you’ve found a seller in the thread that interests you, you may reply in that thread or contact them to discuss any arrangements. E-mail jephilippines@gmail.com once you are ready to donate.
7. How do I donate?
Filipino buyers have the option to pay via BPI cash deposit, LBC, and PayPal. For international buyers, we accept PayPal and Western Union donations. Once you have e-mailed us that you are ready to donate, we will reply with the payment details. Your donation will be confirmed once you e-mail us with the scanned deposit slip (for BPI), tracking number (for LBC), e-mail address used for PayPal, or the tracking number (for Western Union).
IMPORTANT: Kindly make sure that your chosen payment method is finalized on or before September 14. We do not want messages of buyers asking if they can change payment methods at the last minute. Also, all given payment options are FINAL.
8. I want to donate but I don’t want to buy. Can I do so?
Of course you can! Again, you may e-mail jephilippines@gmail.com for payment details.
9. Where will the donations go?
All donations will go to
Red Cross Philippines, which the volunteers will be using to buy food, medicine, and other items for the victims in the evacuation centers of the affected areas. If you want to donate to them directly, you may do so by clicking
here.
10. How will we know that the donations will go to Red Cross?
The day after the fund-raising closes, we will directly send the money from our PayPal account, and we will post the receipt and confirmation to our community. However, if you still feel uncomfortable coursing your donations through us, you may directly
donate to Philippine Red Cross, though please inform us if you have done so since this is still part of our project.
11. Do you have a goal for the fund-raiser?
We hope that we can raise a total of USD200 (or PhP8,800), but it’ll be great if we can achieve the same (or more) of the amount we raised last year.
The fundraiser will end on September 21.
