I was just watching an Exile music video. 愛すべき未来へ. The animated one; the one that shows contrasting views of what could happen in a certain future; the one with the amazing tree. It was a nice video with an interesting story. The song is also quite good. [Although I did laugh a bit when the sports arena was shown and it was hosting Exile's concert. xD. Hahaha.]
In the negative view of the future, there was a scene where a space station exploded. A huge piece of it went hurtling through the sky and crashed in the city. Everything was destroyed. The future the boy in the story envisioned was not achieved.
In my head I changed the story. The boy was lonely and looking up at the night sky. He missed his father who was an astronaut. At the time his father was working on a space station, and something went terribly wrong. There was an explosion and he got carried away in the piece that came hurtling through the atmosphere. The boy still looking at the stars, sees it flying across the sky. He thinks it's a shooting star and wishes to see his father again soon. Unfortunately it wasn't a shooting star. And it comes crashing down.
I'm thinking it could be a good, tear-jerking story if I work on it and extract out of myself some shred of writing skill.
But it breaks my heart just thinking about putting it together.
It's a good thing the actual video had a happy [albeit a slightly funny] ending.
