I am no good at writing bios. I don't like to self aggrandize.
Question: Do you include the "has shared a stage with...."
Here is what I have:
Emily Rose is a Chicago-born and raised poet and performer who started writing at an early age. She came into performing through the Young People's Company at the Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, IL. After graduating from college as a Theatre Major with a Liberal Arts education, she continued to write and published a chapbook, Cigarette Love Songs and Nicotine Kisses (Cross+Roads Press), in 2004. Blending the two crafts, she now performs at poetry readings, open mics, and Poetry Slams around Chicago and nationally. An organizer in her community, she is currently a Vox Ferus Resident, member of the Mental Graffiti Collective, a board member for Chicago Slam Works, chair of poetry for the Bucktown Arts Festival, a regular contributor and producer for The Encyclopedia Show, Tournament Director for Louder Than a Bomb, occasional host at The Green Mill, and much much more.
