It was cold.

It was snowing.

And Victor had to go out in it.

He couldn't help but groan a little as he sloshed through the foot of snow that had suddenly fallen upon Fandom. Yes, he was used to snow, but it was colder than he had expected. Much colder ( Read more... )

Pip steps into the room. "Hey, I was just wondering if you wanted to go try the book store later if the weather isn't too bad."

Victor rolled over and looked at his friend. "Yeah, sure, I think we could swing by. The only class I have today is math, so we can go after someone opens the shop if you want."

"Same here. We'll probably get blocked by the big plotty thing o' ultimate plotty doom anyway," Pip said, slumping against the wall. "Found out anything interesting so far about vampires, werewolves, demons, or other scary things that go bump in the night?"

Victor shrugged. "Nah, I've been too busy working out and running errands, anyway." Which technically wasn't a lie. He technically hadn't learned anything, though he'd been trying. However, it seemed as if every site he tried online was either a hoax or about a movie or video game. He knew that there had to be something around the internet, though. maybe he was just looking in the wrong place...

He smiled at Pip and asked, "What about you?"

"The basics," Pip said. "Stake through the heart. Sunlight either drains them of their powers or makes them explode. Some myths have it that vampires dislike silver, others say that's only for werewolves. Cutting off the head always works. The use of garlic is still in question. Crosses and other objects of faith seem to be unhealthy, though faith in the items helps. Speaking of werewolves, silver and wolfsbane are excellent against them. As for demons, I've only found holy and blessed objects."

Victor blinked, surprised. "Wow...that's a lot more than I found..." He made a mental not to write all those down later.

He looked at the clock, then back at Pip. "It's about time for math. We can see how the weather is afterward." Since the shop is now open
