There's drama-llama in the office. One of the financial consultants is acting squirrelly and the manager thinks he's preparing to leave for another firm. To be honest, I'll be glad to see him go. He and his son (who works for him) are both terribly uncomfortable to be around. Both are socially awkward and somewhat condescending. I worked nearly twelve hours on Wednesday because the manager asked me to stay late and help him compile the budget before his manager's meeting. It's nice to be trusted with the confidential stuff. Not because I like being in the know, but I like being trustworthy.
Dan dropped a $200 bonus on my desk this morning. I refrained from doing the happy Snoopy dance across the office. I am NOT going shopping. I am NOT going shopping. Oh, okay. So I might go shopping a little bit tomorrow. I want to see if I can get a bargain or two on some fall pieces for work.
I got a call from the landlord of the apartment I was looking at. She's meeting me there on Monday at 11:30am on Monday morning. We're going to do an initial walk-through so I can point out all the items I feel need to be addressed. The maintenance team will be working on any repairs/cleaning in the next two weeks so the apartment will be ready at the end of the month. Only half my crap is packed. It's going to be a busy month.
Oh, life, you are coming together. A happy job, my own place a safe distance from my nosey family, and a romantic prospect on the horizon. ::sigh::
work,
apartment life,
