I finished the fourth Sookie novel by Charlaine Harris. OMG - the amount of love I have for Eric and Sam is astounding. Love. I was going to start reading The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, but I just can't seem to get into the reading mood after reading for the majority of the afternoon.
So, instead, you get random songs that have been tickling my fancy. Links will take you to a place where you can choose to stream the song off 'net or download it to your computer. So, you can sample it before you clutter your computer with my crap. But, trust me, all the songs are super!awesome. ;-)
Say (All I Need) by OneRepublic
"Well, bless my soul, you're a lonely soul 'cause you won't let go of anything you hold."
Commentary: I didn't give them a chance at first because Timbaland can kiss my ass with his shitty remix. But the album is good, I swear.
This Side of Me by Savage Garden
"For this one time, one time, let my body do what it feels."
Commentary: I paid a rather large sum of money for a Savage Garden Japanese import album back in the day. This song was on it, so all you SG fans may not have it if you didn't shell out the bucks for the B-side. Also, the song means so much more now that Darren's come out and married a man. We all know he loved Daniel.
Thought You Had My Back by Keyshia Cole
"I still remember the day that you said you was a bad boy. Man, I should have listened when you said you was a bad boy."
Commentary: I freakin' love her. She's just so classy and beautiful and an extremely talented songwriter/vocalist. This song kills me.
What Kind of Fool by Gary Allan
"Whoever it was that made you so blue never deserved a woman like you."
Commentary: I'm typically not a fan of contemporary country music, but Gary Allan is a master. His voices makes my insides melt in a good way.
Lights Out Danity Kane
"I'm gonna change your good boy status, break all your good habits."
Commentary: Yeah, I know. I can't help it. I love it. Lots.
Junkie by Poe
I like the sound of your whistle. I like the way you wear your grin. I even like the taste of my will caving in."
Commentary: Poe is, without a doubt, one of my favorite lyricists. She also needs to make another album to satisfy my needs.
I Get Around by Tupac
"Lady, take it easy. Hate to sound sleazy, but tease me. I don't want it if it's that easy."
Commentary: How awesome is that lyric I quoted above? Awesome to the twentieth degree, obviously.
Himerus and Eros by The Spill Canvas
"Your tongue is wet with a top secret passion. I hope I am the cause of it."
Commentary: I don't care if they're emo's new poster boys and all the cool kids with the too-tight jeans and retro shirts listen to them. I still love them.
Trick Me by Kelis
"Freedom to you has always been whoever landed on your dick."
Commentary: Ha! I thought this one gave "Milkshake" a run for its money on that album.
The Worst That Could Happen by The Brooklyn Bridge
"And, baby, if he loves you more than me maybe it's the best thing, maybe it's the best thing for you."
Commentary: I can't remember a time when I didn't love this song. I was probably in kindergarten the first time I heard it on the radio. My dad would play the oldies station in the morning when he was driving to work. Then my mom would take the wheel and drive me to school. I would lie in the backseat and wish they would play this song.
Rudebox by Robbie Williams
"Pocket full of Durex, body full of Mandrex. Are we gonna have sex? Will you wear your knee socks? Back to the rudebox."
Commentary: I love Robbie Williams. I think I might like his personality more than his music itself, but some of the songs like this are amazing.
Inside and Out by Feist
"I ain't no vision, I'm the girl who loves you inside and out. Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out."
Commentary: I can't explain how much I love this song. It's perfect in every way.
This Time by Dwight Yoakam
"This time is the last time she'll ever hurt me again."
Commentary: Dwight is my favorite country artist. I don't think I dislike anything his ever recorded. This is a personal favorite of mine, if only for the Floyd Crameresque piano.
Pressure Suit by Aqualung
"Violently clear the upper atmosphere, raging out your heart somewhere far beneath. Your pointed tongue and teeth is where you really are."
Commentary: I recently discovered Aqualung. I think I was under the impression they were along the lines of Zero 7 or some such, which I don't really like. But I like, I really like.
Cops Up by Lyfe Jennings
"Your body's toned up, look at those thick thighs. Grandmama must have been feeding you right."
Commentary: I'm obsessed with this song. I've listened to it a gazillion times in the past week.
Change My Ways by Jordon Knight
"No other woman gets to me the way you do. Baby, I would change my ways if I could be with you."
Commentary: Well, at least he knows what the girlies want to hear. Although, I thought it was funny that I pulled this song out along with the Keyshia Cole song above. Two different sides of a story, indeed. Jordon, go back to your solo career, for crap's sake.
P.S. - How pretty is the Integra/Alucard icon? It's from a piece of fanart done by Solid&etc and the icon was made by
cleo2584. Yes, Alucard does have a collar on, and Integra is holding his chain. I get some sort of perverse pleasure out of it.
