Together, House and Wilson rule the world! And other TV thoughts.

Late on this but I can't post to LJ from my computer right now so:

Except for Mad Men, these are mostly brief as I don't have the episodes anymore and I can't remember everything.

OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW! This episode was like a piece of heaven and so made for me. It just kept getting better and better.

Oh, SAL! *showers him with hearts* Poor guy. Don't fall in love with straight boys! He's just going to get his heart broken. And this all comes just as I had given up hope of a Sal storyline and then...creative boys! It was amazing to see Sal connect with Ken, another one I had lost hope on getting a real storyline. Still wish there was more about him but we'll see. It was just amazing to see Sal know all about art and OMG can I be any more in love with Sal? Not to mention his super sexy smile after "quite an adventure" (later in the episode). And hearing him and Ken talk about the painting and then Ken's story. Of *course* Sal gets the story. "You're not like everyone else around here" Yes, obviously, heh. Total wink, wink, nudge, nudge moment there. Ken giving Sal his story squee! And I loved finally getting to see Sal's apartment and how it's all decorated and such (I wonder if Bryan helped?) As much as it disappoints me to see Sal get married, I really do love Kitty. She's a much better fit than Lois as she does appreciate the arts and can banter with Sal a bit.

But oh, Sal. All he wants to do is talk with Ken (bad idea with the dinner invitation) but that's why the whole pretend story never quite works out. My favorite thing about the episode was the golden violin. That describes the whole perfect marriage and trying to live a cookie cutter life, it may look beautiful but it'll never play the music, it'll never make them happy. Gah I LOVE perfect metaphors. And poor Kitty being ignored. I am glad she said something in the end. But wow, Sal's whole illusion is really falling apart there and I gotta say, I was scared for him. I mean the way he looked at Kevin and the smoking scene...HOT. I think the safety of Sal's marriage has made him less vigilant about being normal. My other favorite thing was Ken describing writing as hobby and Sal being particularly interested in it. I'm thinking that Sal will come to see being with other men as a hobby and that'll make him be okay with it. Because you know, that's never happened before.

And then Sal keeping Ken's lighter! Gah. That's like the equivalent of Justin taking Brian's jockey shorts. And then poor Sal at work where Ken just talks about Kitty and he runs away. Awww. This is why you don't fall for straight boys! But I loooved him smoking using the lighter at night. He is so addicted, he can't help it. But I think he's not stupid enough to pursue anything with Ken because man, that'd ruin everything with his job.

Okay the flashback totally confused me (I was like how'd Don go from ad man to cars salesman, is this try new jobs day?) but oooh that was awesome. Don totally would have worked as a car salesman. And I loved how someone called him on it, I'm guessing someone from the real Don's past. That'll rock Don's world. Just wish there was more flashbacks or there will be in the future.

Yay for Jane standing up for herself! It was awesome to see her not just talk about the unknown painting and actually go to check it out. And talking about stealing it! Wow, I'm impressed. She's won me over. Not to mention overriding by going to Sterling, STERLING! Whoa. I'm sure there's going to be some more Joan and Jane fights in the future and I look forward to the fireworks.

Ooh love the young boys bringing in Students for a Democratic Society. And the unique ad was really cool. It feels like the start of the hippies movement.

Harry really needs to stop being all high and mighty about the TV department, as much as I love TV, it's annoying. I did absolutely love Cooper just buying the painting to get more money on it later. That's so him. And I love Cooper's quote: "People buy things to realize their aspirations". Fascinating.

Other little thing that I love: Betty's daughter complaining about the bathing cap squeezing her head just how the society squeezes people into the rules and roles they must follow. Gah I love this show. And the whole picnic scene was just beautiful complete with the ending litter.

I loved the whole Don and Betty storyline! Good on Jimmy to finally bring to light Don's affair. I'm sorry but he deserves it and I hope Betty cheats on him. Her throwing up in his car was the perfect end, shocking and the perfect dent in the perfect car and life.

Wow. That was kind of crazy. Did NOT see Cameron getting a change in programming coming. Too much action in the episode for me but I loved seeing Sarah again. SO GLAD that John cut his hair. God, I might actually find him attractive this season. But probably not, personality-wise. Loved the musical montage in the beginning. Still reserving judgement on the Shirley Mason plotline and still bored by Derek (and don't find him attractive). But really, liked the episode and am so glad the show is back!

Enjoyable as usual! SO GLAD Vince shaved off the beard. The Roeper thing was a great touch adding more of Hollywood names into the mix. And loved seeing and hearing Ari again being awesome. Don't have much to say, look forward to seeing where this season goes.

How are Blair and Chuck still so sexy? That last scene between them was just guhhh. The Marcus and Duchess plotline was fun and it was hilarious when Blair caught her and Nate together. Not incestuous at all...

Jay! Christian! Allison! Daniel V! Awww it was so good to see all those past designers. I still don't get the choice of Jerrell's as the winner, I thought it'd be Leanne or Korto but whatever, I like him. I'm pissed they got rid of Terri while Suede and Joe get to show at Bryant Park. I think Suede's pretty talentless and I hate Joe for generally being an asshole (plus I don't like his clothes). But I love Korto and Leanne and I'd be happy if either of them won at Bryant Park (I'm unspoiled for all collections so DONT spoil me!). I just had fun during the episode saying, I was at Parsons! I was at Mood! It was amazing to see all the fabric at Mood just after being in it two days before. I have no idea how they find all the fabrics as there are SO many. I loved the Avant Garde challenge last season but sadly the results this time were underwhelming. I wish it had just been do a design based on a horoscope sign.

I watched Fringe awhile ago but my unspoilery reaction was I thought it was really boring. The only thing saving it for me was my love for Pacey as Joshua Jackson was great and cute along with seeing Lance and Kirk again. The lead actress felt really really bland and the "science" type stuff was either lame, gross or both. The twist at the end was okay but I really hope the series picks up after a few episodes. At least Alias and Lost both had great Pilots so this was a disappointment from JJ. I've learned that if I love the characters I can stick with his shows long term and if I like the plots I can stick short term and so far neither of them is working so I hope one does and soon.

Also I watched True Blood awhile ago as well and wasn't impressed. The good thing is I love the concept so I'm hoping the show will pick up once it finds it's feet. The writing didn't seem that great to me though, surprising coming from the Six Feet Under guy but mostly I HATED the "meant to be" main couple. I am just getting so sick of being told two characters see each other and all of a sudden they're in love or some such nonsense. Give them common personality traits and common interests and some chemistry cause I'm not seeing it. The sex seemed rather gratuitous too. I'll keep watching and see.

In my spare time, I have gotten completely addicted to Sex in the City. I am beginning Season 5 and I just can't stop. It was supposed to be my fun show to watch once in awhile and now I can't get enough. I love the focus on relationships and how they'll discuss any aspect of sex. The fashions are wonderful too as is recognizing stuff in NYC. I love them all really besides Charlotte whose a bit too marriage n'babies for my tastes. And I reeeally didn't want to get invested in the Carrie/Big thing but DAMN THEM, they got me hooked onto their whole drama. Their lack of communication drives me up the wall though but gah Big can be so damn sexy and charismatic. And the most charming character I've ever seen. I am utterly charmed. He can be my Prince Charming any day.

OMG I can't wait til House!! A girl from my newspaper got to watch the first two episodes ahead of time to review them and now I'm sooo jealous and wish I had applied for the position as it's not that difficult (as in I could do better than them). I can't believe the day is finally here when I get to see my show in realtime again and squee madly at House/Wilson. I've been thinking about it all day and was counting down the days all week and now it's finally here OMG. I missed that feeling of excitement at a premiere, knowing that I finally get more ship love that'll make my day. And I need it as my day has been crap and full of self-loathing. But this will definitely cheer me up. Wish people wouldn't be doing that Supernatural quote meme when all I can think of is House so here's my House quote:

Wilson: "You can be a real jerk sometimes, you know that?"
House: "Yeah. And you're the good guy."
Wilson: "At least I try."
House: "As long as you're trying to be good, you can do whatever you want."
Wilson: "And as long as you're not trying, you can say whatever you want."
House: "So between us, we can do anything. We can rule the world!"

Or at least rule my world. House/Wilson forever!
