End of the Year Meme

Here is my end of the year meme for 2014:



1. What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?

Practiced parkour, go to Bitchin' Party, visit NBA summer league, watch the World Cup, see a hockey game live, cliff jump, IDK various other things I can't remember right now.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I read a little more this year but it was mainly every once and a while and I did a little more Spanish in the beginning and end of the year but not as regularly as I wanted to. For 2015, my resolution is to volunteer more, at least 2 hours a week.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No but my cousin and my other cousin's wife are pregnant...

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No, thank god.

5. What countries did you visit?

None this year although I was super close to flying to Brazil for the World Cup.

6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?

Educational and career progress - thankfully with going to St. John's College, I should have this.

7. What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

October 31 when I got accepted to St. John's College in Santa Fe.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Getting accepted into St. John's College and getting past beginner level in parkour.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not doing enough reading, exercise and volunteering.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Just colds except for minor soreness in my legs.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Parkour lessons, plane trips to Bitchin Party/VVC/family, NBA summer league tickets.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My cousin for starting her own business.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Police and the fucked up justice system in this country.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Besides rent and food, plane tickets.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Got accepted into SJC, Festivids/VVC, World Cup games involving the USA and Germany, shippy moments, getting my green band in parkour, meeting SU stars.

16. What song will always remind you of 2014?

Shake It Off and Happy.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? Happier
ii. Thinner or fatter? Thinner (also stronger)
iii. Richer or poorer? Poorer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Reading, exercising, studying, volunteering.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Wasting time on pointless crap.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Opening presents, Christmas dinner watching basketball with family, vidding, reading family documents.

21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?

Drinking and watching Breaking Bad with my aunt.

22. Did you fall in love in 2014?

Nope.

23. How many one-night stands?

None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Orange is the New Black and Transparent.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No one in particular.

26. What was the best book you read?

The Foundation Series by Asimov was incredible and blew my mind. It made me think of the world in a different way.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Gonna have to save this til after Festivids.

28. What did you want and get?

Acceptance into St. John's College, parkour lessons, meeting favorite SU stars, more free time, less job stress, good times with friends, Germany winning the World Cup.

29. What did you want and not get?

A part time job I liked, the weight loss I wanted, trip to Brazil/Germany, true love.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Gone Girl, I think.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 27 and went to a parkour class and then had a vid dance party with friends.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

More meaningful activities.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?

SU sweatpants and hoodie.

34. What kept you sane?

LA, friends, vidding, sports (except when they didn't), family, my cat, future hopes.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Jonathan Toews and Lena Headey.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

#BlackLivesMatter

37. Who did you miss?

My mom, various friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

My good friend's friend, Amy who it was fun to talk to about our cats and various other topics.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013.

Have structure in your life to accomplish things, don't spend too much time freely unless it's working after a few weeks.

General Goals for the year:

1. Do well at St. John's College. Read a lot, make new friends.
2. Volunteer at educational nonprofit(s).
3. Improve at Parkour, lose fat, gain muscle.
4. Continue learning Spanish and start learning German (I'm a few lessons in on Duolingo).
5. Make vids for Festivids, VVC, pleasure.
