Hee! You can take as many as you want, you know. You can squirrel them away for later, even. I won't mind!

Oooh, very cute porcelain! Predictably, I am taking no. 9, though. :o) Will credit upon use. Thank you for sharing! (Notice my clever diversion... *cough*)

*wraps you in tentacles, gives you a big hug*

I love the way #9's tentacles are so curly. Float on, tentacled creature who's probably some kind of octopus!

I know what a big porcelain fan you are, obviously.

Cephalapoda! So pretty. Where do you find the vintage art? (I'm saving 2, 10 and 11, thank you!)

That is a very good question! I wasn't sure I'd find it because it's been years most of these images have been on my hard drive, but what do you know, they're still in business!

Classic Nature Prints

This is the source I remember for most of the vintage animal/bird/egg/plant/fish images in my collection. I'm amazed they don't seem to have redone their web site in--it's probably six years since I was last there. Very web 2.0! Tables everywhere! But never mind that, their images rock. They're selling Audubon prints right now--eeee!

*fangirls J.J. Audubon*

(#11 is from a book of Dover clip art, though. I got on their emails list somehow at one point and they'd send out a sampler of electronic images each week. I happened to save Mr. or Mrs. Jellyfish from one of those.)

Aw, I like that site!

*fangirls Audobon with you*

... especially now that I see he drew the "Texan lynx" (which I assume is L. rufus, the bobcat) um... doing what cats do so well.

Hah, I totally noticed that, too! Someone who's not me should make an icon of that.

*pets lynx, politely ignores its poor manners*

I read this bio of Audubon last year--OMG did you know he lived through the Terror in France as a kid and had nightmares and chronic depression for the rest of his life? He had lots of good things in his life, too, that just stuck out for me as something you don't hear about him. He was extremely handsome also, apparently--like total super-athlete, great at everything and gorgeous. Great book, anyway! :D

I took 11, 1, and 7 because they are made of win. And tentacles. May I add text?

No problem! Add any text you want. :) I'm glad you like them!

*drapes tentacles on everyone, everything*

Now if only there was a picture of a tentacle _holding_ a teacup :)

Dude, why does that not exist?

I am backing slowly away from the urge to draw that right now. Resumes first, tea-and-tentacle porn later... :)

Madam *fixes you with a somewhat cross-eyed stare* if you had even a shred of self-discipline you would be attending to your search for employment at this time.

*disappears briefly the sea of Orions*

As for your tongue on my ear, where is the logic in that?

I beg your pardon, Ambassador. I'll return to my search for employment as soon as you release your grip on my posterior.

Oops! *loses sight of you under a tangle of green limbs*

Don't worry, Ambassador! If I can't reach your ear, I can still get to your fingers! [under breath] D'Nila, quit hogging the Ambassador's fingers! He has ten of them. You don't need them ALL.
