Last night I was thinking about the
where_no_woman drabblefest and the strange experience of being inspired and writing
a story from it over the course of a single day. (This doesn't happen to me. As a writer I am a Level 10 Agonizer

I have some thoughts to refine that story--it's a balancing act because I want her to be a little more angry at him--more implication that they're being pitted against each other in the competition, and she sees the change as blatantly favoring him over her, since he's always had the best instruction (another marker of his privilege). The trick is having her be furious but not so expressive of it that she's un-Vulcan. I think it needs to be more of a snark fight and he needs to get angry back at her. Tentative title: The Little Prince, because that's how she's seeing him now, as this little coddled prince of Vulcan. I think I'll wait until the Spock Prime/Gaila pon farr story is done, though. If I don't keep up, his pon farr will be over before I get there!
Re: the music, I love that version of The Scientist! I love the Coldplay one, too. But I love Aimee Mann so much--do you have much of her music? I just double-checked and she's still the most-represented artist in my iTunes, with 59 songs. The Decemberists are close behind with 46, though. When I get their latest album they may surpass her! Though I think she has one, too. Bottom line is, I love both of them very much!

Hah. Your T'Vhan POVish rant was hilarious and just what I'd expect to be boiling under the surface of her Vulcan calm. Though she'd of course never phrase it that way. It'd be interesting to see if what she fears is true &ndash are people more accepting of Spock now or is it that he's only risen in her assessment of him? After the part you posted, I'm inclined towards the latter. Hm.
I wonder what would happen if he'd get angry back at her but in that icy cold way rather than snapping. *is evil*
I had only ever heard of Aimee Mann's name before.
