Exactly why it says on the user info, I'm tired of vegan pretension. It's my belief that humans as a species evolved to be omnivores, and vegans seem to have forgotten that up until 200 years ago, even people in developing nations were lucky if they found enough food sources of all kinds to keep them alive through the winter or periods of drought or other natural hardships. To my mind, veganism is a direct result of living in a land of plenty where we're removed from the natural world and it's balance. Simply put, I feel that the human race has become extremely spoiled and out of touch if some people can be so very picky about what to consume, without thought about what our ancestors had to endure.
To my mind, veganism and reactionary terrorist groups like PETA are not the right way to go about how we deal with our food. All people need to take a close, intensive look at how and where we get our food products, whether they be plant or animal, and how growing/production methods and government standards affect what ends up on our plates. As a respectful omnivore trying to be aware of the extreme pressure the human population has put on the natural world, I want to learn from those like-minded.
