my indiana adventure

i spent the long weekend at IU with josh. i had no clue what to think of it. the process of getting there was a little more complicated than i had hoped. i got to chicago fine, but then i ended up waiting in the chicago airport for 8 hours while josh was waiting for me at indianapolis. he is such a sweet heart, waiting for me there and when i finally arrived he had roses, a card, and ear rings.... a funny story about the ear rings.

as i sidetrack... so i called josh from chicago telling him that the stone fell out of my stud of my newly pierced ear and he happened to be somewhere and a woman overheard this. he was wearing a ring and so the woman asked if he needed something for his wife, meaning me, and he said that he did and that i was having a bit of an ear ring crisis. so she gives him a pair of purple studs for free. and on that note, he managed to befriend the United customer service rep and a waitress at TGI Fridays. anywho, i digress.

so he picks me up at the airport like a perfect gentleman and we take the bus back to IU. it is raining, but not nearly as cold as i had thought it might be. we get back to the room and i meet a bunch of his friends. we went to dinner with Grayson, Nick and Ben at this place called Scotty's which was really hip, and then we went out to Motherbear's which is as college of a hang out as it gets. I felt like part of the group, like that was how college was supposed to be.

the second day we slept pretty late and then josh, grayson and i went out to lunch at a new little japanese place which was quite an adventure. when we got back to campus, josh showed me around the entire thing and i got to see the house that my grandpa lived in when he went there and all of the buildings and such. it was a lot of fun. it looks like an old university. it is made of stone and has this very academic, yet fun loving atmosphere. i couldn't tell if i liked it or not, but i think that was only because i was hesitant to let myself like it as an institution of learning for fear of what that might cause me to think. for dinner we went out to motherbear's again, which was still fun, only a little less so because the waitress was new.

the next day was the last day and josh, grayson and i went to coldstone's for brunch and the bought apples to apples for his suite. we went back to campus and the out to the movies with nick and ben to go see Children of Men, which was really good. after the movie we came back and hung out for a while before going to dinner at a thai restaurant, that was my suggestion. Alex came too, which was exciting because i hardly got to spend any time hanging with him this weekend. that night, my last night, josh, grayson and i watched moulin rouge and since i had to be at the airport really early, just did not go to sleep. josh and i stayed up talking and then grayson was nice enough to drive me to the airport in the morning. now i am back in SD.

i am thinking very seriously about transferring to IU. it seems like the college experience i wanted and i am thinking about going to business school and double majoring there. i loved it and i feel like i could really call it home. socially i didnt feel awkward at all and i am going to definately apply as a transfer student. I think if i get in i might seriously think about going.

it was a really great weekend. one that i needed. i am doing a lot of self discovery and i think that this weekend helped me to figure out a little more about myself. i loved spending time with josh. it was amazing.

i love you josh.
