So it's been a while since I did a music post, and hey, I don't have anything better to post about right now. So have some links to newly uploaded music.

Across the Sky [Emilie Autumn]
Fear no more the midnight,
Fear no more the sea.
Close your eyes, regret nothing--
You're safe with me.

Apparently it is a rule that my musicposts must have at least one Emilie Autumn song. I would have broken that rule with this post, except that I'd mentioned this as a sort of Allen/Rinali song recently, so I figured I'd share it.

Hammer and a Nail [Indigo Girls]
I see my face on the surface--
I look a lot like Narcissus.
A dark abyss of an emptiness,
Standing on the edge of a drowning blue.

This is a cute, pretty song. joidecombat has called it as a Rinoa song, and I tend to agree.

Missed My Chance [Griffin House]
Now I've bartered and begged for what I believed,
And I saw that the name engraved was my own.
Now there's nothing so peaceful as when I met you,
And there's nothing so lonely as when it was through

I do not have the slightest idea where this came from or why it's on my computer, but it's pretty, even though slow songs like this aren't usually my thing.

Far Away Memories [Neil Benjamin]
I don't usually like instrumental pieces so much--for some reason I need the lyrics there--but this one is nice.

I Can't Decide [Scissor Sisters]
My heart feels dead inside,
It's cold and hard and petrified.
Lock the doors and close the blinds,
We're going for a ride.

I love insane evil mean songs with perky, bubbly melodies. This is one of those.

It Can't Come Quickly Enough [Scissor Sisters]
We knew all the answers,
And we shouted them like anthems,
Anxious and suspicious
That God knew how much we cheated.

I...am developing a taste for the Scissor Sisters. I may have to find more songs by them.

Glamorous Sky [Nakashima Mika]
Ano hoshi wo atsumete kono mune ni kazaritai
Ano yume wo tsunaide futari odotta glamorous days.

I tend to gloss over most Nakashima Mika songs, since they're a bit slow for my taste, but this one is nice.

Eleanor Put Your Boots On [Franz Ferdinand]
But if you run,
You can run to the Coney Island roller coaster,
Ride to the highest point and leap across the filthy water,
Leap until the Gulf Stream's brought you down.

I found this one on a Rinali FST. I don't know how well it fits her, but it's a fun song.

Way Down in the Hole [Five Blind Boys of Alabama]
Way Down in the Hole [Tom Waits]
Don't pay heed to temptation,
For his hands are so cold.
You gotta help me keep the devil
Way down in the hole.

The opening song for The Wire is always "Way Down in the Hole," by Tom Waits. It is pretty badass. Every season, they get someone new to do it. The first season--by Five Blind Boys of Alabama--is kind of bluesy, while the second, sung by Tom Waits himself, is starker. The third is peppy and jazzy, and the fourth...is sung by schoolchildren. Yeah.

I only have the first two seasons' versions of the song so far, but they both kick ass.

pimp it!, musics
