Today was a bust. Nothing was accomplished, even though I got up at 10:30 in the morning. Well, there's always tomorrow, I guess ( Read more... )

Eh, I wouldn't have set this entry public if I minded people coming here.

I actually wasn't upset last night, merely irritated. If anything upset me, it was my own quickness to lash out, and I apologize for my short temper in that aspect.

The thing about the character hatred floating around Geass fandom is that the hatred directed at Suzaku, Nina, Shirley, and Euphemia comes from all over the map, so if I'm going to bitch about it (which I do; it's frustrating to check a post in hopes of discussion and find instead "Ewwwwww, I hate Nina so much now!" or "That Lacus clone stole Suzaku from Nunnally!"), I do so in comments not directed at anyone in particular.

But you comment a lot (mostly inoffensive things like gushing over Schneizel's sleeve), and it seems like whenever the subject of Kallen comes up (and sometimes when it doesn't), you have something negative and occasionally borderline inflammatory (such as "Haha, Suzaku got lumbered with the fanservice cipher!" instead of "I like Suzaku and wish he'd gotten screentime with someone I like better than Kallen," for instance) to say. So, while I can't hunt down everyone who whines about the creepy racist lesbian or the hypocritical Kira clone bastard or the stupid Lacus clone Mary Sue and ask them to keep it in their journal or be more polite, I can ask you to try to keep an eye on the negativity and either express it more politely (as in the parenthetical above) or focus instead on the things you like (such as Schneizel's sleeves).

It's not about different opinions, either, as I've had some interesting discussions on those on code_geass, just so you know.

(And Sweeney Todd is my favorite musical, but sometimes it's hard to choose with all the awesome stuff Sondheim has done. I'm not sure whether to look forward to the movie or be afraid of it.)

Mmm...I think I am kind of afraid of the movie, but I'm willing to give it a shot. The cast is very good. I am not sure if Johnny Depp, for all his brilliance, has the gravitas of a George Hearn, but he is a good actor, so...I am a bit worried about Helena Bonham Carter...I have never heard her sing and am presuming she's doing her own singing. But I try to remember how I was convinced that Tome Cruise would be an utterly horrible Lestat and actually, he was OK. I can't wait to see it though; Tim Burton usually has awesome vision.

I am slightly embarressed by getting so excited by a sleeve...#>.>#....never mind. At least now Schneizel himself is in his sleeve it makes it a bit less sad.

And you're quite right; I had made up my mind to police myself carefully online and be positive, as I don't like negativity either and I don't like making people unhappy with a careless tongue. :( But I had a lapse, for which I can only pull myself up and apologise and try to be more vigilant. *nod*
