RP : Stupid town, stupid riddle...

Feb 05, 2008 20:48

Date : February 5th 2003
Characters : Pansy Parkinson & Daphne Greengrass
Location : The Little Seer on Norbins Road.
Status : Open.
Summary : Pansy tries to contribute.
Complete : Incomplete.

Pansy had been grumbling to herself for the last twenty minutes, bent over her little table with a battered map on it and her pendulum dangling from a chain between her fingers. She had been trying to scry for the location where the captives were held, but so far, no such luck. Usually, the pendulum would pull downwards at the point of the location, but either it had been hanging still, or it had been swirling around in big messy circles, as if it was thoroughly confused. Pansy frowned. She felt strangely affected knowing several friends of her own "friends" - (could she really consider Dean and the Weasley twins friends at this point?) - had been taken. She barely knew those people and if she did, they had never been really close.

Still, she felt like she had to do something, at least to give herself the impression that she was helping. The first thing she had done when coming to the shop the day after the town gathering, was plastering one of the riddle posters against the shop window. She had written a note on it, too : 'Suggestions, names or general help are all very much welcome.' After her conversation with Fred, she had scribbled some names on the poster, too. Or at least the ones that had been on Fred's slip of parchment and the ones she had obtained from Dean and her personal experience of missing Neville.

Missing :

Victoire Weasley
Charlie Weasley
Percy Weasley
Ginny Weasley
Merope Gaunt
Barr Dunstan
Neville Longbottom

They were still missing five other names and the common thread they shared. Zoey, her assistant, had offered to try and figure the latter out, but it was rather hard since she didn't know any of them and was forced to rely on Pansy's information about them, which was very limited to say the least. But at least, in Pansy's opinion, they were trying and not sitting around twiddling their thumbs. Pansy directed another hint of frustration at her pendulum, before taking it away from the map, leaning back in her chair and running a hand through her hair. "Stupid riddle, stupid town..." She muttered to herself.
