Macnair weighed his options in a flash, feeling impotent. He wasn't used to having to make such quick decision. His plans either fell directly from Lord Voldemort or, most recent, something that took a few weeks to make certain it was carried through. But the options was very clear, and it only took Macnair a moment to decide in his state of half-insanity. It was truly belittling and humbling to be kept in a cell for a month alone. Restless did not begin to describe how Macnair felt. Weaver was offering him a chance, even if it was small, to be free with conditions. Conditions, of course. Sarcastically, Macnair thought, I can't wait to hear those conditions.

He lowered his gaze in an offer of submissiveness and mumbled, "I'm sorry. What do you need Mr. Weaver?"

It was insufferable that he had to lower himself to these standards, but once he got out, who knew what he could? Maybe he could stay out. Maybe he could do what he pleased. Weaver couldn't control him 24 hours a day could he? No, Macnair decided, looking up with determination but not defiance, he could play his part and then see what happened. If death was more appealing than what Weaver had in mind, he could always just ask Weaver to throw him back through the door. It was that simple.

It could feel the cold hatred seething off the man and could see the continued defiance in his eyes. Still, even if Macnair didn't mean a single word of it, he did follow the protocol asked and so the mortal needed to be rewarded, much like the Entity would do a child or a dog and it thought that its earlier reference was appropriate.

"I have an assignment for you. You've been prepared already and I will be granting you the ability to travel outside Annwn temporarily in corporeal form." It mused and then tapped its chin with its forefinger. "Of course, you will be monitored and you're behavior had best be exemplary or there will be serious consequences." The Entity paused and then continued. "This is your test to ensure I can trust you in my employ, Macnair. You will not fail at this task or disappoint me in any way. Do you understand?"

"You will be escorting a young woman." It went on, pivoting away from Macnair and wondering when Astoria would show. "If she comes to any harm or I find out that any women are in any way degraded by you, you will be chained and I will have your skin peeled away from your body a slow centimeter every day." The Entity already knew nothing would happen because it had removed that desire from Macnair and wouldn't return the urge until the man had proved himself. Turning back, it faced Macnair and smiled. "Do we have an agreement?"

Macnair was intrigued. The threat did send shivers down his spine and he didn't like the idea of being on a short leash, but he decided that was worth a shot. He hoped the defiance didn't show in his eyes, but he couldn't help it. Weaver can't proven himself to Macnair yet like Lord Voldemort had to gain his complete and unconditional loyalty. But maybe, with this "assignment", Weaver would gain that loyalty.

"Yes," he said in a soft, submissive voice. "We have an agreement." He was tempted to add that he'd be in his "best behavior," but he knew it would sound openly defiant and sarcastic. Not to mention, he was not needed. It was implied by the agreement.
