The Entity sat quietly on a metal chair staring at the woman he loved speak to the healer she had chosen to monitor her pregnancy. The healer seemed more competent than the others she had seen but they were still blathering on about things that it already knew and it frustrated it to no end that she continued this façade of mortal normality while seemingly doubting its own prognosis. But it couldn’t be too upset since it had failed to detect the second heartbeat within Tonks and with that simple mistake, doubt had set in about its choices over the past few months.
It found that the humanity it had allowed itself to be seduced by the lure of humanity, specifically the pleasures of mortal flesh that had provided itself with Tonks. The Entity had become obsessed and allowed itself to be bound to this realm through the impending birth of its progeny while it had let Dora talk him into attempting to build a bridge between itself and the people it detested so much. Its attempts had brought about mixed results so far and it knew that most of the folk in this godsforsaken place either were indifferent toward it or hated it with a true vehemence.
That is one reason it had withdrawn to its mansion and its home away from home behind the Door. The horde had begun to arrive and it realized that despite its small change of heart toward these humans, there was nothing it could do now to change the fate of this earth other than meet the leaders of the factions when they arrived and forcing them to return to their own worlds. The other worry were its own kind who would one day ask for their own portion of this world, the fey treasure that they would claim.
It was torn though about whether it wanted to try to stop what was inevitable. It would be like trying to hold a handful of sand. Nearly impossible. The Entity could take Tonks and their children and find a new world, one it could claim for its own. It was a course it thought would work out best since in this world, it worried that its offspring would be corrupted by their humanity, much like it had been to some extent.
The thought was on its mind as it stood up and walked over toward Dora, trying to remain as unobtrusive as possible since its presence had seemed to make humans somewhat nervous by its presence. It placed its hand on Tonks’ lower back as it stood next to her and asked, “Everything alright?”
