Hefting the sack over his shoulder, Charlie walked out of the back room. The sack was filled with every bit of junk and rubbish he had found littering the floor and shelves. It was heavy and he had only cleaned up half of the shop so far. Who knew that under some of the old newspapers and receipts and empty cages and cans, there would be hiding perhaps the grossest things he had ever seen... a dragon's enclosure included? He had felt the urgent need to spell a bubble over his nose to keep the putrid smell out.
Charlie still wrinkled his nose at the thought and it looked rather odd as the bubble jiggled from side to side. But he couldn't keep the silly grin off his face while he worked. This was his place, his shop. He threw the sack onto the floor by the open front door, grimacing as it caused the thick layer of dust to whirl around. Quickly, he went over to the windows and opened them to their fullest capacity. He breathed in the fresh air. Then he grabbed a broom and started sweeping away the carpet of dust and grime occupying the floor as he hummed. It was already beginning to look much better.
