Shovel and Spade (new poem)

Feb 08, 2006 12:47

Above
floorboards of the heavens
creak
Shower of dust
Shovel and spade

Tunnels
created by myself
Winding corridors
of fate

No light
Eyes see all
Though
once
they were blind

HEAR,
creatures of dirt,
minions of filth...
your Lady,
your Goddess
approaches

Fresh death is near
Stench of the lifeless
Pulse quickens
My family shall grow

Family...

Once I belonged
to those
above
the floorboards

Witch!
Dark One!
Demon
they called me
Child was I

Left me down here
to rot
Not the nerve
to destroy
that
which they created
No satin lined box
for me

Shovel and spade
found
Dig
Desperation
Sustenance in dirt
My minions of filth
sacrifice
themselves
so that their Lady
may endure
And...so...
she does

No desperation
in the dig
Not anymore
Only hope
A new soul
to take care of

Covered in earth
Wading in life and death
The sounds of wood
against metal
A wave of dirt
Crash of wood
A hand
Glove of flesh
falling from skeletal fingers
Family

Six we are now
Set in a row
Bony grins
Hollowed eyes
of love
My family

Suddenly
a cry from above
Little soul
New angel
Joy abounds
They call her "Lizabetha"

I look to my family
"Soon, my dears,
we shall have
a baby sister"

Above
floorboards of the heavens
creak
Shower of dust
Shovel and spade
