Logic is lost for everyone
Being smart helps for success but it only works with wisdom. Wisdom is like the part of the AI programming used "in the field" like self-driving running in Tesla cars (using as low a current as possible)... Wisdom suggests the best course of action based on the history of millions of mistakes. The super computers take knowledge (rules of the road) as tested by mistakes (driver interventions) to get a generalized understanding of how to drive safely. "Working from first principles" is Elon's description of the same concepts many great thinkers of the past have attempted... Trying to get down to the elements or elemental forces or Sherlock's "elementary my dear Watson" reductionist assessment. What inspired this post was listening to CBC news and 3 of the 5 items in their 5 minute hourly news update were 100% "fake news" propaganda pushing anger about a possible action that is actually impossible to have actually happened... Anger over nothing but easily-debunked lies. I have been unfollowing and making-me-unfollowed of many accounts on Twitter because they are becoming easier to see that the accounts are purely for making money by posting stuff people want to hear... And apparently they want to hear "easily-debunked lies". Of course Elon was the first to disappoint me with such "easily-debunked lies" instead of using logic to debunk the crap before repeating it. I keep telling people that nothing bothers me and they don't believe me because they are always angry about the latest "easily-debunked lies" that are making them angry. In the mean time, I struggle to find ANYONE with the very obvious solutions to ALL the world's problems because they are too busy talking about people or copying old ideas that are causing the current problems... People need to go to those "first principles" and look for actual solutions rather than people to blame. A lot of the YouTube channels I follow are being sponsored by Ground News. I like the idea (show the bias of news sources so you can filter through the BS) but I have found that 100% of news sources are 99% BS so "garbage in, garbage out" applies. The only solution is to train logic before the age of 7 years old (for humans) so people can figure out when they are being lied to (including self-delusion). Looking at a video of puppies trying to get through a maze to reach the food, people can see the obvious solutions the puppies fail to figure out. I, instead, see that my rodents would have that problem solved in less than a second... Puppy brains lacking opportunities to turn mistakes into knowledge and knowledge into wisdom.
