Songs brings back memories
Ah.. Listening to this song brings back good memories. How many years has it been now? I miss playing Xenogears. *_* Really makes me want to play it again. But I probably should finish the bunch of games lying around first. xD; Xenogears is one of the games I always liked, more than the Xenosaga series even though both Gears & Saga seem to have this parallel universe kind of thing going on though officially not connected as stated from Saga developer & probably makes a tie to FF7 & Tactics in my list anyway xD;, but I'm thinking I like the epic story of Xenogears more. Actually, I think it has the best story I've encountered in a game. And well that's truly shocking. You'd think I'd be FF7-biased considering how much of a FF7 fanatic I am though I still think FF7 wins for best gameplay. lawl
Xenosaga was great, but I think Squaresoft did better making Xenogears into a game. The story is very engrossing & long. It really stuck to me. There was a timeline of the history of the Xeno series I read somewhere online years ago that explains every bit of details that wasn't really mentioned in the game since Xenogears expands to 15,000 years, which is a long time to cover in a game, but I can't find that site anymore. =_= Must.. find. Anyway, I wish Squaresoft/enix didn't let go of this Xeno project. I wanted them to make the other Xeno episodes. Xenogears is only Part 5 of a total of 6 Episodes. I know there's Xenosaga, but the story is not connected though there are so many references to Gears: similarities from characters & even the way they look, names of places & parts in the story. But as officially stated though probably to avoid being sued since Gears is still(?) owned by Squaresoft/enix, it's a completely different universe, one would assume it's a parallel world. But then again, similarities ensue since the previous staff of Gears which Squaresoft/enix disbanded or fired(?) has the same staff that created Saga, so one can understand why it's so similar. Anyway, I really like this song & the music box version with no lyrics. Very touching. <3 Makes me remember when I used to play it on the piano every day. I probably should again if I still remember. haha Everyone, who still haven't, should give this game a try. Actually, I recommend it. It's that interesting. No joke. But it's probably most likely hard to obtain now, unless you want to pay high price for used games. XD Though I must state a warning just in case that Xenogears is a bunch of plays on religion just as Saga was/is.. You know what, it would be pretty awesome if there is a Xenogears anime series. I know there's a Xenosaga one. =_=
