The end of the Munich Era

Jun 06, 2007 15:20

Even though I will probably continue to fly through Munich (actually Eden and I will be there at the end of July), we will not be seeing our dear friends. I cannot remember if I ever posted about how ironic it is that Q, W, W & I have seen so much of each other over the last 3 years. Q and I were roommates in college and for quite some time, she and W lived in D.C. Did I visit? Once I think. While W was stationed overseas (clearly I forget where...Thailand?), Q lived with her parents in Pennsylvania. Did I visit? Um, maybe once. More irony in that I had a difficult pregnancy with Carson and the very next year she had a difficult pregnancy with W2 and other than each of us sending birth announcements, we didn't communicate. Then they lived in the beautiful paradise of Hawaii. Did I visit? Nope. So now that they live in Germany, we see each other and talk regularly. Who would have figured that?

So it's sad for them to be going to Korea. I plan to visit. Believe it or not, I have about 2 dozen students who have asked me to visit them in Korea, but I have never managed it.

We had a nice time in Munich...

We went to our favorite Mexican place...

Then I fell asleep on the train ride back to the Munich airport (and hijix ensued). Honestly I don't even remember boarding the flight to Sarajevo. But guess who was perfectly alert?

airport, munich, quijana, eden, wendall, korea
