Arizona

So Ted and I spent all day on the 31st flying to Arizona. Somehow I imagined this would be no problem for me...shift 6 hours to Delaware and then 3 more to Arizona. WRONG! The first night there I almost feel face first into my dinner. It was 8 pm there, but my body was screaming "IT'S 5 am - GO TO SLEEP, NOW!!!".

The next morning was better. I was bright and bouncy for the wives' trip to the botanical garden...especially since I woke up at 3:30 a.m. I should say I was bright and bouncy until the 103 degree heat hit me. Our tour was great...

...and the guide was really into it. He brought us cookies made from Mesquite trees and candy made from cactus. He showed us how rope can be made from the Agave plant (also where tequila comes from).

That afternoon I spent an obscene amount on my nails and hair and went to a fancy dinner party. It was actually fun even though we turned in a lot earlier than most.

The next day I canceled my overpriced massage appointments and we spent an obscene amount of money on clothes - mostly for the kids - I did spend $100 (including the HUGE AZ State sales tax) on running shoes. That night we went to a Mexican Rodeo.

Most importantly, they played the Star Spangled Banner at the beginning and for some reason I was moved to really sing it (normally I do the Ashlee Simpson lip sync).  The couple in front of us turned around and just raved about my singing.  Ted rolled his eyes so hard I though he was going to fall backwards.
