Rape is a crime of violence, but the weapon is sex, and the aftermath is pain, fear and shame..
Funny how something so serious can be used as a joke. And its not like anyone would understand the actual impact of what they say. its just sad when its become second nature in society for people to joke around about it. It trivializes the word and makes it meaningless.. But you cant really get mad at people for being idiotic and saying it can you? you just have to say its part of society so its part of everyone. Its just a part of everyone to treat that subject like a joke. like the victims are a joke. Whatever. I cant get mad. Its just how society is.
I was reading the other day how this one person said that all rape victims should kill themself because they are considered impure. I think that sometimes it is an option because society drives them to do it. Rather than helping them and realizing the impact it has on their emotional and physical well being. we have people who treat it as a joke and triviailze it. which makes the person feel so lousy and hate the situation even more because what happened to them, which they considered very traumatic is someone elses joke. Whatever.
