Pearl Siu Mai are really just fried-rice dumplings. A great way to use up leftover rice, and to stretch that bit of minced pork just as faaaar as it can go. Or at least this is what I have concluded, having just completed making a batch of the filling for the second time ever. Puppydog&Co. are having a New Years' party tomorrow, and I decided to make foods for it. People are going to be drinking, so I'll at least make sure they don't start on empty stomachs. Pearl siu mai, mini quiches, and mini apple-pie things. Yes, I'll make people help me.
vacation has been entirely too short. Not that it's over yet, but the end is looming menacingly. *hides* I console myself, though, by reminding myself that Hamsters will be here soon! and that I'll have an interesting History class with the Gophers.
How were people's Christmases? Among other things, I got kitchen knives. :D and the Puppydog got me an antique kimono. Yes, he got hugs for that. :) The (Not Very) Small Sister got strep throat, though. This was Unfair.
