KANK!!!
I have been obsessed with this film for too long, I thought that it will go away once I saw it, but Nooooooooo!!
I can't stop keep thinkning about it, I haven't written a review( I tried but it was crap), all I have are impressions from this fantastic film!!
let me start with The Scene, which I thought just showed why Karan Johar is top when it comes to dealing with human emotion...I mean seriously? how did he know?
I like that scene for so many reasons( beside the obvious one which is ...OMG!! SRK is doing a sex scene!!!!)..ahem***
-I remember watching in the theatre, and feeling shocked at the begining of the 2nd intercut of WTPT, and thinking that there is no way Karan will show this, just no freakin' way!!!!this is Karan after all!, but SRK took his shirt off(gulp), then he took HER shirt off Shocked, and the scene went on, I think my heart beat never returned to normal at for least 5 min, I was not expecting it, I thought Karan will show them in bed or something the morning after and just gloss over it!!
- I liked that the decision to sleep togther was a deliberate one from Dev and Maya, no passionate heat of the moment type of thing, both had plenty of time to change their minds and go back to their homes, but they didn't, for them at least it felt right( and still it was mixed with a lot of guilt).
- I thought it was quite daring of Karan to show that tear of satisfaction going down Maya's cheek, that split second of that tear and Dev kissing it( beside the fact that it was the most sensual and romantic thing ever...guuuuh:))where a wife is shown physically satisfied by a man other than her husband was just too risky for a main stream huge film like KANK...major kudos for Karan.
-SRK: the debate that raged before the release of KANK about should he or should he not do such scene at this stage of his career, and what will that do to his family friendly image was so fascinating and amusing to me!..apparently SRK can get away with murder on the big screen but not infedility!!.
- The scene was done so tastefully, and conveyed passion, love, guilt ,satisfaction, and still we were reminded of how wrong this was all!!...brilliant job by Karan!
