5 10 Explanations for Kat-tun's First Performance of Yorokobi no Uta on Music Station (6/8/07). [Kat-tun / NewS]

Summary: Explanations for the Music Station Yorokobi no Uta MS performance.

Pairings: Various including Akame, some barely there Pin, JinDa, TaNaka, some others for fun.

Warnings: Crack. Please do NOT read this if you LIKED the Music Station performance or are a devoted KT fan who can't stand the thought of them disbanding, as this will probably offend you and really, it's just a silly fic. Actually if you did/are, you might want to stop reading this entry entirely as my A/N will offend you.

A/N: I feel that there is a lack of discussion on the more recent KT lives, which in my opinion, have not been very good. The best example of this was the Yorokobi no Uta performance on MS recently. (It used to be on youtube, but the person who put it up took it down, go figure). IMHO, it was not a very good performance by KT standards-- several members did not harmonize well and Jin did no hip wiggling. So here are some possible reasons as to why.

Also, no I don't know who wrote Yorokobi no Uta, and telling me changes nothing.

1.

"Jin, we have to be on show in less than three minutes," Kame said, as Jin's hands fumbled on his pants.

"That's okay," Jin said, smirking. "You only take two."

He was wrong; Kame took two minutes and half, and by the time he was done, so was Jin and they went onto the show completely spent.

2.

After over a month of inner fighting with Kame, Jin heard the rumor that KAT-TUN would be disbanded. A group with Yamapi? It was just a rumor, but it gave him hope and if he could do anything to bring make that rumor true, he damn well was going to try.

He would see to it that this was going to be the WORST performance, EVER!

3.

They were having a Wii bowling party and neither of them could stand being the last one to lose. So even when Ueda told Kame and Jin to stop playing at three in the morning, they didn't listen.

Final count at 8:26am: Kame won 249 games, and Jin won 250, but only because Kame's hand spasmed from all the coffee, sending the ball into the gutter.

4.

"It's so embarrassing to say something like 'Aishiteru'," Koki complained to Nakamaru, "And even worse when we have to sing it."

"It's easy," Nakamaru reassured him with the experience of one who had performed the song live first. "Just say it over and over again with as much feeling as you can until it's just an ordinary thing to say."

"Aishiteru," Koki said.

Nakamaru grinned. "Aishiteru," he sang back.

It became a contest of sorts; they said it to each other over and over again and really, it wasn't so bad (especially when tongues were involved).

When the show started, they crooned it together, sounding better and more harmonized than everyone else.

5.

"I want to join NewS," Jin complained to Yamapi right before the show. "Everyone but Nakamaru is still mad at me. Kame won't forgive me, Junno is indifferent, Ueda was friendly until we came out with this song and he declared that weren't musically in synch anymore, and Koki only talks to me when Nakamaru does."

"I want you to join NewS too," Yamapi told him. "But we're already getting two people back, we don't need a third."

"AM I NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND?" Jin shrieked. "You had NINE originally, you can take me in!

"Do you KNOW how hard it is to squeeze nine people into a photoshoot?" Yamapi shouted. "There was a REASON why Morita left the band! I'm sorry, but we can't."

Jin burst into tears and cried up until the show began.

6.

"I did not get fat," Kame said, mortified that it was Jin of all people telling him this at Yamapi's party.

Ryo snorted. "If Jin was Fat Jin back then," he said, "Then you'd be Obese Kame."

"Don't be mean," Tegoshi said. "My cheeks used to be just as big."

Ryo looked at him fondly. "The difference is," Ryo said, "That you grew out of yours while Kame grew into his."

"You're not fat," Yamapi reassured Kame, earning a smile. "I think it's just the stress," Yamapi kindly concluded.

Kame's smile disappeared.

He looked at Jin and sighed and said, "Okay what kind of diet was this that you heard about in LA again?"

"It's called Atkins," Jin said, "And I heard that it works! Let's both try it!"

It did work, they did lose weight; unfortunately, they happened to lose a lot of weight in the toilet right before the performance and THAT process was more painful than not eating any fiber at all.

7.

"There are some things that I didn't miss about being in JE," Jin told Kame after Johnny's surprise visit right before the show.

"Welcome back," Kame said sarcastically. "I just wished you remembered to bring the emergency lube because you know he never brings his own."

Jin responded, "Hand me those painkillers will you?"

8.

Right before the show's taping, Ueda gathered his courage and confessed the truth.

"I hate this song," he told Jin. "It's the worst song that you've ever written."

"But I wrote it," Jin said slowly, "For you."

Ueda gave his professional expertise opinion as a boy band pop member who really wished he was a rock musician. "Bad music is bad music," he said. "Lyrically, this is stupid."

Jin had always been able to take criticism well in the past; so for the life of him, Ueda could not understand why Jin began to cry.

9.

Jin finally told Kame the truth about why he left for America right before their next performance. "I have throat cancer," he said. "They have better doctors there."

"That's not funny," Kame said, "You've been watching too many Korean dramas."

Jin HAD watched too many Korean dramas when he was living in K-town in LA, but he refused to agree.

"I have throat cancer."

"Oh god," Kame said, "Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to sing all the main parts by myself? People boo."

"I have throat cancer," Jin repeated, and then they both started to cry for different reasons.

("Bakanishi!" Yamapi yelled at him after the performance when a sobbing Kame had called him up. "It's not throat cancer, it's reoccurring LARYNGITIS."

"Wait," Jin said, "You mean that's not the same thing?"

Yamapi hung up.)

10.

It was the worst group fight that they had ever had. Kame blamed Jin when they couldn't harmonize in a last-minute rehearsal before the show, Junno sided with him, and Koki backed Ueda in Staying Out of It.

After Kame and Jin had finished screaming their lungs out at each other and Kame stalked off, Jin sat down and stared at the wall and said quietly, "We should just cancel the show. It's in half an hour, we hate each other, we're out of practice, the performance is going to suck, and we might as well just disband now."

Nakamaru sat down next to him, leaned against him shoulder to shoulder and said, "But I miss singing on Music Station with you."

They sat together for another two minutes before Jin sighed and said, "All right, fine," while Nakamaru helped him to his feet.

bonus: (see comments)

It started when they decided to watch old videos of Johnny's Sports competition.

Then someone suggested, "Take a sip every time you think the person on screen had kissed Yamapi before."

"I have a hangover," Jin croaked the next morning.

"Shut up," Kame said, "Your voice is so loud."

Koki and Nakamaru were already dressed. "Lightweights," Koki scoffed. Nakamaru agreed and bent down to pick up the 76th discarded can.
