"Two Roosters Walking Arm In Arm?
Hello There,
We are songwriters from Nashville , TN and although we didn't write the song we're emailing you about, a friend of ours did. This song is going 'nuts' on a few radio stations across the country. The song is about the two guys' wedding that was on TV a couple of years ago, and it's called 'Down To The Farm.'
The chorus says,
'Come on down to the farm, come on out to the barn,
You won't see two roosters walking arm in arm!
They couldn't make a chicken, they don't have an egg to hatch,
When God said 'Love your brother', I don't think he meant like that!'
This is a very humorous song with a powerful message in it. We recorded it, put it on a concept video, and you can see it at the address below...
After you see it, will you please send this email to all of the folks in your address book? Don't just send it to them...Ask THEM to send it on to everyone in THEIR address book, and let's keep it going until it saturates the whole world!!! Everyone needs to see/hear this song!
Thank you for your help, and we surely hope that you like the song!

Now, I realize he is 84 and from The South and all (please note that he claims to have "always been a Democrat"), but I was completely horrified. That's it. No more just ignoring his crass forwards that spout beliefs I do not support. I cannot tell you how many Hillary- and/or Obama-bashing emails I have received, or the number of Jesus-loves-you-pray-and-pass-it-on emails I have just deleted, to try and be nice to an old man. I have recently begun citing snopes.com to debunk the occasional wacky claim, but that's it. Not anymore, though. The line in the sand was just drawn, and this is it. So this how I replied:
I think gay people should be able to get married like anyone else. I'm hesitant to say that marriage is all about furthering the species (as if the planet needs to be more overcrowded); by that rationale, infertile people, or those who choose not to have children, would not be allowed to marry. Who wants to be the first to make that discrimination?
Love,
A.
