Hawks at Dallas 3/16/13
GUYS!!!! That game was insane. Just incredible.
I got there way early and met Wendy. We saw the whole warm up period. Some of my favorite things about the warms up:
Jonny very captainly making sure the pucks got to the right places after each drill. I mean, it's a small thing, but it was cool to see.
Kaner was just stickhandling with a puck right down in a corner. He does that for a while warming up his wrists (I imagine) and then he flips the puck onto his stick and casually drifts over to the glass and tosses it over the glass to some kids that were over there.
Jonny also got in on that later, tossing a puck to some fans.
Stalberg was playing a different game where he was trying to shoot the puck up so that it would land just right and go through a small whole between glass and net (he was not successful.) But it was AWESOME seeing him try.
Razer getting some net time! I LOVE ME SOME RAZER.
During the game I was clearly a wash with emotions and feels. Some of them included Bollig protecting his guys! No, seriously, it was awesome and happened right in front of me. Seeing the skill and fierceness Jonny skates with. My god is he good. Kaner's speedy happy self. UGH - he is just SO GOOD, and some of the passes he made and then his spin-o-rama goal. amazing. Also, as Brent was being ushered off the ice after his fight who was skating right there with him? Keith - I wish I could have heard what they were saying but Duncan had his arm around Brent and then gave him a good tap on the ass before he got off the ice and Duncan went back to work. Hossa made some AMAZING plays and ugh - EVERYONE was participating and just it was so fun to see them play live.
I can not complain about the score but the Star's could have showed up to play SOME hockey. I mean, maybe.
And thus my vacation of hockey, spn, family, and frivolity comes to a close. *le sigh* But what a note to end it on!
