What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'm seriously considering lying any time anyone asks me about what I'm going to do after finishing my computer science studies. I'm thinking of telling them: "Oh, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now. I'm really looking forward to being a mom!"
You know, for some reason, no one questions the motives of mothers or even soon-to-be-moms who want to stay at home for the rest of their lives instead of pursuing a career. When I, on the other hand, tell people that I have no intention of working eight hours a day unless I find a place where I actually have some sort of responsibility for my work and where I'm not getting bored to death, I get these funny looks.
So I think I'll just stick to the trying-to-get-pregnant story from now on, just to shut people up.
