Title: Colours Change
Author: salmiaggi
Rating: G
Characters: Sami Hyypiä
Genre: (Double) drabble
Summary: Sami in Leverkusen. Being reminiscent and unsatisfied with his own performance (as always).
Disclaimer: I wish this was happening, but I doubt it.
Author’s Notes: This is for Ceren. Because for some reason she loves me and my writing. This is a battle between short and long sentences. Kinda.
Feedback: keeps me alive and writing.

Red
The colour is different. Brighter, and colder, in a way. The material of the jersey harsh against his hand. Liverpool's jerseys never felt rough in any way. The black stripe is unfamiliar, unnecessary in the front. The logo under it unrecognisable. The back isn't simple like with the good ol' Adidas jerseys. It's crowded, somehow. The number four is familiar, and it feels safe. After all these years, Hyypiä's ä finally has the dots over it it rightfully deserves. He should just put it on. Forget about the past. Like he said he would. But everything is just too different.

Blue
God, playing ninety minutes feels so bloody good, the sweet ache in his legs is so much better than he remembered. But he is not even remotely satisfied with himself, his somewhat shitty and the team's absolutely shitty performance. Mainz was supposed to be an easy opponent, a team they should've won against easily, and somehow he had let himself relax and not worry about a thing. What the fuck had he been thinking? Such an easy, stupid beginner's mistake, and one he shouldn't have done, not at this point of his career, after eighteen years of professional football. Fuck.

I think this is my very first pairing-less fic in this fandom. Took me 123 fics to do get here. :P
